I had a filling replaced two days ago following a small decay. The pain I was getting from the decay has gone but the gum area around the actual tooth is swollen and very sore to touch. It is therefore quite sore to bite down on it? Is this normal after a filling? It wasn't the deepest filling but it's the third time I have had it filled and it is fairly deep. I am torn between riding it out and hoping it settles down or going back to see the dentist. It has only been two days. Have any other people experienced something similar?

My dentist says I have "open bite" - this is when not all your teeth come together when you close your mouth. She says braces MIGHT fix it. I don't want to go through the trouble of braces if I don't even know it will work. Any experience fixing open bite? Any experience living with open bite? I.e. what will happen if I don't fix it?

I was put on an Antibiotics called Phenoxymethylpenicillin on tuesday for a Tooth abscess. I will be having the tooth removed when the course is over, but I am still in pain after being on the Antibiotics for three days. I have been taking Nurofen and paracetamol, but these only work leaving me to have pain before I take the next round of them. {First I take the Nurofen, two hours later the paracetamol, and so on, but not exceding the doses on the pack} What I would like to know, if anyone else knows, is when are the Antibiotics supposed to start working?

I got my tooth pulled yesterday, and my gum is sore and tender. I can't take any pain killers as I am on medication. Has anyone any natural pain relievers that I can use. I really am in agony.
