I got my tooth pulled yesterday, and my gum is sore and tender. I can't take any pain killers as I am on medication. Has anyone any natural pain relievers that I can use. I really am in agony.

you will be tender for a few days . . . its an open wound in your mouth. But make sure you keep the area clean using Hot Salt Mouth Wash, mug of hot water (not too hot!) and a teaspoon of salt do this after every meal.

As for the Clove oil. . . . DONT do this!!!!! clove oil will only burn your gum. Same with the topical anaesthetic, well it wont burn but best not to poke around the socket.

Speak to the pharmacist re pain killers and your medication or even call oncall doctors, not sure where you are but in scotland we have NHS24 where there is doctors and nurses on call for advice, 08454 242424, even call if your not i scotland just for advice!

hope this helps!

don't use alochol it'll probably wash away the blood clot and you'll start to bleed again. That's for toothaches not getting a tooth pulled. Just use small chunks of ice that should help relieve enough of the pain for you.

I think you should check with your doctor preferably or failing that the dentist about whether you can take pain killers with your medication.

I am sure they would not want you to be in pain so would probably prescribe something suitable for you.

Hope you feel better soon.

Try alcohol, swish around the mouth like a mouthwash or you could dip some cotton wool in whisky and place on the affected area, if it still hurts over the next few days I would go back to your dentist or to your doctor.

Try rinsing your mouth with warm salt water. That should help with swelling and tenderness.

Try local anesthetic gel. I think anbesol is a brand name. You could go to a drug store and ask the pharmacist what they have (Lidocaine gel, etc.). That should give you prompt relief.
