try Colgate Peroxyl. it is an antiseptic mouth cleanser. it has hydrogen peroxide in it, so after a few days of washing your mouth out with it, the lump should start to go down.

If you don't want to go to the dentist, you have to lance the abcess before it kills your tooth or causes an infection. Get yourself a big needle or an exacto-knife. Rinse your mouth out with listerine or vodka or anything sterile. Poke into it until you feel a relief in pressure (you'll know). Then work the swelling with your finger until most or all of the puss is out. (Instead of a lump you'll feel a dent.) Then rinse with the mouthwash thoroughly. Avoid food, booze and coffee for a day and you'll be just fine.

Unless these antibiotics were prescribed for you by a physician or dentist who diagnosed the abcess, do not treat yourself. Doses vary, types of antibiotics vary and you don't want to mess with an infection in your head especially near your brain. See someone ASAP. If you develop fever and chills go to the ER.

Are you realy sure that this lump is an abscess?
If you have a cavity on your teeth near this swelling,OK it is probably an abscess so antibiotics can not help you thouroly and you must be root canal therapy by an ENDODONTIST,but if you don't have any tooth decay [near this swelling] you must be evaluated by an oral surgeon .[please hurry up]

Well.. your tooth has seen the end of the road my friend..LoL
It's no picnic I know.
I had one actually myself, and seeing how you have antibiotic's, keep taking them, it's an infection.
It will go down, and it can feel really funny, but keep taking your med's and it'll kick in.
I'd say your dentist will highly recommend getting your tooth pulled. I would too.. cause if you hold it off, and keep holding it off, eventually that infection will flame up again if not seen to.

if it is an abscess, you will need some surgery...probably some mouth numbing and mouth surgery...it could be worse!
