I have to get all 4 removed soon and am scared to death. I've never had to be put under and don't know what to expect. I also don't know how I am going to feel afterwards. Is this like a big operation? I mean do I have to wear a blue robe thing and have needles in my arm or anything. Could someone please walk me through what happens and how you feel when you wake up. Please Thx

My jaw clicks in various places on both sides when I open my mouth wide. This only happens when my jaw is in a natural position, and does not happen when I open and close my jaw while the lower part of my jaw is pushed far forward.
This has happened for years, and is occasionally sore (like today after being at the dentist). My doctor once told me that I have mild arthritis in my jaw, but I dismissed/ignored this the problem wasn't that bad. Another problem is my jaw can sometimes lock and I am unable to open it wide.

I'd appreciate any help/advice on what I can do.

For a wisdom tooth that has come through, can it just be extracted like a regular tooth, or is there still special things that need to be done? And what exactly does extracted mean? Do dentists have to cut the gum when they remove teeth?

I am a 22 year old male having all four wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon in the near future.

I am electing to be sedated during the procedure.

What drugs are used to "put the paitent to sleep?" Do they actually sedate the paitent or induce amnesia?

I talked to my general dentist when getting panoramic X-Rays and he stated they pretty much give you intrevenious Valium. You are awake, but don't remember a thing.

Thank you for your time.

My dry socket started a week ago tonight. I've had it packed 4 times now. Just wondering if any one else has had to deal with this. It hurts like crazy once the pain meds goes away. I'm pretty much living on Tylenol, and I'm not big on taking medicine. I was also wondering if since it has been a week if there could be something else going on? If so what, and what should i look for?

Crest doesn't burn and the commercials says only difference from Listerine is the lack of alchohol. So which one is better if you don't want the burning mouthwash?

I got my wisdom teeth removed a week and a half ago. I now have what I call "skin flaps" on my gums that open and close. It makes it difficult to eat because food goes into them and I feel like I'm going to...stretch them too far or something. What is this? Is it normal? Will it eventually go away?
