I would suggest talking to your dentist about whitening. I would suggest a take home kit (not the Zoom whitening, because you get the same results with take home kits for a lot less money, less sensitivity, and more control over the results)

With take-home whitening from your dentist, you would be schedule for a visit to take a set of impressions - one of the top teeth and one of the bottm. The dentist would fabricate custom whitening trays with these that fit your teeth specifically. (Usually they can be completed in a day or two.) Then you are scheduled back in for them to deliver the trays to you and give you the material to put in the trays.

In the office I work in we have a one hour a day system. You put a drop of the material (which comes in a two-part syringe that mixes the two parts in the tip and comes out pre-mixed for you) in each tooth depression and wear it for an hour. Once your hour is up you rinse out the tray thoroughly and brush your teeth with a damp toothbrush to get the whitening material off your teeth.

The material used at my office (NiteWhite) actually has a very low incidence of sensitivity, and it very easy to use!

You will only spend about $200 on a take home kit from your dentist.

If you don't want to jump in the deep end and spend all that much you could try some of the over the counter products as well. Just make sure that it contains peroxide as an ingredient, otherwise it's not actually *whitening* your teeth.

Whitening toothpaste does not actually whiten your teeth, They do not contain any whitening agents in them. The only things that whiten your teeth are peroxide based products. Whitening toothpastes are meant to 'whiten' by cleaning your teeth of surface stains.

In fact, whitening and tartar control toothpastes are more abrasive than most to clean off the aforementioned surface stains and can actually cause tooth sensitivity.

There are several products on the market. The cheapest and easiest one are Crest white strips. They do make your teeth white, provided that your teeth are not badly stained to start with. The next would be the trays made by your dentist and you put a whitening gel in them every night and you sleep with them. They work very well. The best and the most expensive one right now is called "Zoom" whitening. It is done your dentist and they make your teeth brighter by about 10 shades but they do make your teeth sensitive though. The best product is determined by your needs and differs from patient to patient.

Victorians used their urine to whiten teeth because of the high Acid content. (true) If you cannot afford a dental treatment like laser whitening, use Pearl Drops, Toothpaste for Smokers, and then there are teeth whiteners like Whitening Strips and Arm and Hammer or bestter Salt and Bicarbonate Soda instead of Paste.Floss three times a day. A little Peroxide mixed with toothpaste will also whiten but it can eat away at your gums.

don't drink dark liquids like soda and coffee. Buy toothpaste that says it includes whitener, they even sell mouthwash with whitener. If you continue to brouse the toothpaste isle, there's also quite a selection of products specifically for whitening teeth. But the best way to do it is go to the dentist and have your teeth professionaly whitened. Or get veneres, which I don't suggest cause they grind your real teeth down to tiny little nubbs, therefore you will forever require veneres.

Brush your teeth with a whitening toothpaste twice daily. Don't drink or eat any brown foods(chococlte or Coke) without brushing after. Use a whitening strip or gel and chew Orbit whitening gum.
