If I take Tyleonol and my antibiotic every 4 hours the pain does go away, but how long will this last?

I am 24 weeks pregnant..so Tylenol is the only thing I can take.

Yes, for an abscessed tooth, it is normal for it to hurt for couple of weeks after the root canal has been performed. It varys from person to person. You may hurt for only a few more days, or you may hurt for even longer, but if you have any concerns you should contact your dentist.

I worked for a dentist and his favorite trick for this was getting a hot tea bag and having the patient put it over the infected area. It is going to hurt for a little while, but if the pain is just excrutiating, then go back to the doctor. Take all of the antibiotics. They didn't give you any pain meds? Try the tea bag, but make sure that it isn't soggy, just wet enough to apply to the area.

It depends on your pain level and how infected the tooth was. If you have a question about possibly a problem; you should notify the doctor that did the root canal - Good Luck and hang it there it will get better!@

Spearmint Oil feels very good on sore gums/teeth. I've had tons of dental work completed and this is one thing I found that helps. You can find it at most health food stores. If your mouth is still hurting in a week you should call your dentist to ask their opinion.

i had one done and it was sore for awhile!! you should call your dentist and tell them you are still in pain, and get a stronger pain reliever, because i'm tellin ya tylenol aint gonna cut it!!!!
