It is now day 4 of my wisdom teeth removal recovery time, and I have a few more questions. To all those who have answered my queston already, thank you. But, I do have more.

1) Is it normal for swelling to still be persistent on the left side of my face? It is just as big as yesterday. I admit, I did not do the warm compresses as much as the cold, so maybe if I do that all day today it will go down. What do you think?

2) Am I in the clear for dry sockets now?

3) I have to go back to work Tuesday, and I work somewhere where I'll be in close contact with customers. How do I get rid of this breath? Plain brushing? When can I floss again?

4) What does the healing tissue in the "hole" look like? Is it dark? The reason I ask is because when I woke up this morning, I felt a small piece of stuff on my tongue (and, sorry for being graphic) it was smelly and whitish/clear. Was it the clot? I don't think so. I think it was justa piece of food that got stuck up there.
Again, thanks!!

Ok im a mid teenager and i just got braces put on like a week ago. But ive been noticing the past two days that im swallowing wierd with my tongue, almsot like a tongue thrust. I open my bit slighty i actually pull back my toungue instead of pushing it to grab the spit im sucking back then i swallow normal. like im sucking all the spit from the out side of my mouth, the Front teeth region where mybraces are to my tongue and swallow. I swallow normal without my tongue toching my teeth but its when beofre im swallowing my tongue thursts a little bit to get the spit. Also when i do this im puckering my lips ALOT like inward suckingm otion but inside your mouth with oyur lips closed. Is this becasue of my braces or is this a problem to be concerned aobut. Ive never had a tongue thrusting problem before so why is this weird tongue thing happening now with braces? I talk fine and evrything but is this a habit that will continue or will it go away as i get use to the braces? Answers please.

I know this probably sounds gross but I haven't been to the dentist since I was really little, like 4 or 5 years old I think, and I'm 16 now.

Anyway, I've got a couple of teeth that have started to hurt, I'm pretty sure they're got cavities, and I told my mom and she's made me an appointment with a dentist in town. But it's been so long since I went, I don't remember what happens at all.

How long will it take and what actually happens at the first appointment?

Will he do any treatment to my teeth like cavity fillings then and does it hurt?

I've got a chip or a cavity or something in one of my front teeth - can they fix that easily?

Thanks, I'm pretty worried about it and I need to know what I should expect when I go.

18 months ago, my dentist found a cavity in my upper left side, and they told me to get it filled, but i didnt want to at that time, now i want to get it filled, i was wondering would it cost about the same amount to fix it, like back then. because i know the bigger the cavity the more it cost, and thats why i ask could my cavity have gotten really big by then? i have avoided eating candy and brushed my teeth, floss well too (if that helps?)

I've got bulimia and I've had it for a few years and I'm waiting to see a specialist about it but I have to wait ages before I see them.

I saw a dentist a few weeks ago and that's how everyone found out about my bulimia because he said my teeth were all eroded and rotting from being sick all the time. What can they do to fix my teeth, and is there any way I can protect them against the vomiting?

Please, don't tell me to stop making myself sick - if it was that easy I'd have done it already. But is there anything I can do to stop my teeth getting worse?

Did I damage the gum?
I had my lower wisdom tooth out 1 month ago and I have had sensitvity to the adjacdent molar ever since. Anyway, with this senstitivty I have been unable to brush good back there. Finally, I used a metal scaler (you know dental hygenists use to clean teeth with?) and I scraped the gum around the tooth. When I did then, I immediately started bleeding, and all this food came out of my tooth. Now, my gum is incredibly swollen and it almost looks like an abcess bulging out of my gum. It has been 2 days since this happened and it is still like this. I do have pain so I have been taking tlyenol.
I can't get into the dentist until Monday. What the heck happened? Is my tooth dying? Is it an infection?

about 6 weeks ago i had an absess dome up in my mouth.....i went to my dentist and she put me on antibiotics.....they did help, but didnt get rid of it so she gave me 2 more lots.....she said that if they didnt work then i would have to lose the tooth as it has already had a root filling.

i finished the tablet a couple of weeks ago and although the absess is only small it still hasnt completely gone and every 4 or 5 days i am popping it.....it isnt sore......is there anything else that can be done or am i doomed to lose the tooth?

I will be getting a pretty good bit of dental work done before long and it includes getting a partial for the top. Has anyone out there ever had a partial or have any experience with it? I am kinda freaked out. But I have to do what I have to do.
