18 months ago, my dentist found a cavity in my upper left side, and they told me to get it filled, but i didnt want to at that time, now i want to get it filled, i was wondering would it cost about the same amount to fix it, like back then. because i know the bigger the cavity the more it cost, and thats why i ask could my cavity have gotten really big by then? i have avoided eating candy and brushed my teeth, floss well too (if that helps?)

Yes, cavities get larger over time. If you wait long enough it will reach the root and you will need a root canal to save your tooth. Go NOW, what's the big deal.

yes, it would probably be larger and deeper now - even with good oral health. If you're lucky - it won't have gotten much bigger, but 18 months is a bit too long to go without getting it filled, if it were to get bad enough that it affected the nerve, you'd no longer be looking at a tooth filling - but a root canal and possible crown as well. And I guarantee both of those are 10 times more painful AND more expensive.

If you take good care of your teeth, it shouldn't get any worse than it already was. If you only think you take care of your teeth though, you may be in for a surprise. A lot of people don't know how to brush properly and that alone leads to many cavities starting in the first place. It's possible that it's bigger, but, likely, it should be relatvely close to the original size.

Yes, it can get a lot bigger in 18 months and you shouldn't expect it to be the same price. Best to take care of those things when first diagnosed the smaller the filling the lesser the cost. Letting go will only cost you more.

A cavity can really grow in 18 months.If the tooth is not causing pain then it probably isn't going to need a root canal which would cost more. YOu should take care of this soon though because it could cause an abcess which is painful expensive and could cause infection to go to your heart.

There's no reason it can't get bigger - it certainly won't shrink.
You need to use fluoride on a regular basis to minimize the increase in size of the cavity, and to help keep your teeth strong anyway.

Yes, it can get much larger and you could have a painful abcessed tooth if you don't take care of it. If you don't want to lose your teeth get regular dental check-ups and do what the dentist tells you.
