getting 3 wisdom teeth pulled and wondering about the time when i can reasonably hit the gym again (weight training) without risking anything. I know when im all healed would be the best bet, but would working out while healing be safe?

For as long as I can remember my teeth have been very crooked. I NEVER smile - which can be very depressing mentally. I stopped brushing my teeth a couple of years ago because I just got so depressed when I have to look at them. Now not only are they crooked but they are yellow and black. I have a great job in marketing but I am behind the scenes at a computer so I won't be seen by the public. In recent months I have been losing alot of weight (i now weigh 100 pds.) because It hurts to eat. I can't afford to go to the dentist - I am a single mom of 2 kids. What do I do? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK well i'm going to get braces, Family Vacation was out voted... BUT.. well heres the skoop... my lower jaw is not developed completly as well as the other one, so it is lower, and not quite right. So i am going to have braces for 3 years, and its gonna HURT. Also, since my jaw is like that, i might end up having a tipe of device conected to pull my jaw forword.. So its gonna hurt... I just wanted to post this, so that when i go into have them, that i feel that everyone is praying for me, and hoping that i don't have something as bad as to end up having surgery.. Cuz if i don't have braces, then i have to go into the emergency room, and have both sides of my jaw BROKEN and kept there.. so its gonna hurt like Hell either way.. So just wish me luck.. and pray please!! thanks!

I Live in Lebanon Ohio andneed some help finding a Dentist that can help my 12 yrold daughter with Dental Implant or a Partial. Her medical card doesnt cover any of those and neither does my husbands insurance we desperately need a Dentist that can help us with Financial planning and payment plans. Help I am a terrible 'grinder' not only at night but also in the day. I am under a lot of stress just now and the grinding is so bad I have a sore neck, head pain, dizzyness and sore jaw and teeth. Also my face aches a lot, how can I control this?? I am wrecking my teeth and they are becoming really sensitive I ma becoming miserable because of this and MORE anxious...HELP

I just got mine out last Monday, almost a week ago, and it seems to be going fine. It's still kinda tender, but that's ok. My problem is in my upper right gum where they removed one, there's this bubble-like thing, almost like a blister. Is that a dry socket? Am I in for some sort of surprise here? It doesn't really hurt, but it's gross.

My girlfriend needs to get some fillings in her teeth but she's got braces on and she's worried about how they'll do it.

Do they have to take the braces off before she can get the fillings? Or can they just do it with the braces on? She needs to get some fillings in between her teeth and she needs to get a filling in one of her back teeth and it's got one of those metal bands around it - how do they do that particular filling?

Ok im a mid teenager and i just got braces put on like a week ago. But ive been noticing the past two days that im swallowing wierd with my tongue, almsot like a tongue thrust. I open my bit slighty i actually pull back my toungue instead of pushing it to grab the spit im sucking back then i swallow normal. like im sucking all the spit from the out side of my mouth, the Front teeth region where mybraces are to my tongue and swallow. I swallow normal without my tongue toching my teeth but its when beofre im swallowing my tongue thursts a little bit to get the spit. Also when i do this im puckering my lips ALOT like inward sucking motion but inside your mouth with oyur lips closed. Is this becasue of my braces or is this a problem to be concerned aobut. Ive never had a tongue thrusting problem before so why is this weird tongue thing happening now with braces? I talk fine and evrything but is this a habit that will continue or will it go away as i get use to the braces? Answers please.

Does Braces withan overbite work becasue thier so uncomfortable and are messing up my bite. I got braces on a week ago and ever since then i couldnt bite down all the way. I couldnt bite on my molars anymore like i could before. Since i have a deep over bite i only bite on my front teeth, because the brackets are sorta in the way on my bottom front teeth stopping me form biting all the way on my back teeth. I Still chew fine, but it doesnt feel like a normal bite to me. Is thier a way to fix this or will i never get to bute in my back teeth?

I just got my braces taken off the other day and when the orthodontist took the metal ring off one of my back teeth it was really sore and he said there was a big cavity in it and I'd have to go to the dentist.

It's still hurting a lot and I loooked in the mirror and it looks really rotten where the ring was, the front side of it has kind of broken off when he pulled the ring off the tooth and it's all kind of brown round about it.

Will the dentist be able to put a filling in it or will I need to get it pulled out? The orthodontist said it was quite bad and I had to go to the dentist this week sometime. And how did it happen? I brushed my teeth all the time when I had my braces on.
