It is going to take a while before you get a normal bite. Just because you got braces on, does not mean you will instantaneously end up with a perfect bite. Yes the brackets are there for you to not bite all the way down. It will be fixed soon enough.. have patience.

you will possibly be able to desire to make certain an orthodontist with the intention to getting your overbite fastened. in the experience that your braces have been extremely designed for this issue, then sure this might guard your overbite. yet do no longer purely take it forgranted, ask the orthodontist in case you desire any extra effective paintings so as which you would be able to get all of it appeared after out at as quickly as, because of the fact the braces could be there to straighten your tooth.

After going thru the complete program with braces your bite and chewing should be normal. Perhaps not the same as you are used to but you will get the feel of it in a short time. Hang in there and go thru this now to correct what was obviously a real problem.

Welcome to the hell of braces. Yes they help overbites they may even change the physical appearance of your chin and jaw. The first year hurts just when you can chew again they tighten them and you are back on mush. Enjoy the diet. LOL You will love your teeth when it is over trust me I do. Was worth the pain and lack of food.

I had braces and also had an overbite. My teeth are perfect now, and feel fine, just hang in there, in the beginning it feels pretty awkward.

If the orthodontist does the job properly they should be correcting your bite. You can always go for a second opinion to another area orthodontist if you are concerned or talk to your regular dentist.
