I love animals myself, but I draw the line at kissing them. A hug fine, but kissing no. From a dental standpoint, yes people have tons of bacteria in their mouth, but why add more from your dog. Dogs lick their butts, eat their own vomit, and sometimes their own feces. Fecal matter has a ton of Ecoli bacteria which can make you very sick. Dogs will eat just about anything if given the chance, do you want to kiss your dog after they were outside eating a dead bird that had been there for a few days, with maggots crawling all over it? Of course not. Now a quick kiss on the head is one thing, but allowing them to lick your face and mouth area is just plain gross, and not a good idea for them or you. Your pet will still love you and you him/her without putting your health or theirs at risk. Don't kiss your dog on or around the mouth and visa versa. Just my two cents worth.

I am assuming you are kissing the dog on the top of the head, right? Is it just a quick peck or 'smoochie-smoochie' on the lips?
I would avoid kissing your dog in public places; but when you're together a quick kiss is nothing out of the ordinary. In public places, many people may see kissing your dog as extreme feminine behavior or off the wall behavior.

people laugh at you maybe because you kiss your dog!!...lol. that is so nasty. why would you kiss something that licks himself. if you are spending alot of time with your dog something is wrong. there is nothing wrong with showing your pet love. but kissing them is. people laugh because maybe you dont have a girlfriend and you kiss your dog. or maybe they think you are having intercourse with it...lol. either way you might want to slow down on the touchy feely.

Before i can answer your question i have to ask you is it a full on French kiss or just a peck? LOL.
I don't think you should kiss your dog really because however lovely your dog is and i am sure it is you will still catch something very nasty.

Depends, just how and where, are you kissing her exactly? If it's French kisses... I'd be amazed as well... my dog only gets a quick kiss on her forehead every night;-)

Cause they don't have a life...just ignore them & do what you want. People used to laugh at me for talking to my animals...turns out the animals were better conversationalists than most people.
