With so many varieties of toothpaste available today it is difficult to tell which is best for you. I just think that you should have a toothpaste that tastes alright, so that you don't mind brushing your teeth with it for the recommended 2 minutes.

Toothpaste shouldn't be about just how it tastes. You should find a toothpaste to fit what you are trying to acheive with your dental hygiene. If you have a lot of tartar build up and plaque, then you would want one that has tartar control. If you don't have that problem but you are looking for something to maintain the brightness of your teeth, then you are looking for a whitening toothpaste. If you want both of these, then buy a paste that caters to both of these needs. Hope this helps.

I use TheraBreath it's expensive but worth it. Has a neutral taste (not harsh) and eliminates bad breath. The toothpaste isn't slimey like most others. They also have an oral rinse and a really great tongue scraper. We buy no other toothpaste now but theirs. They have a site that has lots of info on oral hygiene. As far as the cost goes, I save money in other areas and spend more money on things that really make a difference, and this does. :)

Consumers Report just ran a test on toothpaste. They decided that Ultrabrite is the best one.

It depends what you are looking for in your toothpaste. So far, I agree with all of the answers above.

I use Prevident 5000. My dentist gave it to me. It's great. I had some sensitive teeth, and now I don't. It's got a lot of fluoride in it which is great for teeth.

Yes... Crest whitening works well. The rest of my family uses Aquafresh that works good too.

Ultrabrite whitening if you want to maintain whiteness

Colgate Total if you have gingivitis

But in truth -- you can't go wrong with Crest, Colgate, or Ultrabrite.
