Anything really soft - applesauce, mashed potatoes [or other vegetables, or even fruit], maybe even baby food if you can't east solid foods for a long time.
Having new braces is very painful, but the pain usually gets better within a few days.

This is a method that really works and is one that I have used. After getting your braces tightened eat something chewy such as...pizza or a chewy piece of steak...after a few minutes of chewing you will notice that the pain is no longer there.....this method helps to loosen your braces and makes eating more tolerable.
So bite down and chew away, the discomfort will be a lot easier on you than eating soft foods....eating soft foods does not loosen your braces therefore the discomfort last a lot longer. give this a try!
Hope that this helps you!

There's an echo in here. If you just can't deal with solid food yet, think about Ensure or really any of the liquid supplements for a few more days. It doesn't matter if the product is for losing weight or for gaining weight. Just pick one you like, ignore the directions and drink enough to satisfy your need for daily calories.
In a couple of days, you'll be able to move back to solid foods. Start with crackers.

Grinded up Lima beans too a soupy drink.
There is also another way to satify your thirst. get your blender out and blend apples, Peaches bananas and have a nice fruit drink. Then at dinner time do the same with a fried stek, mash potatoes and anything you want green beans and blend it up real good to a soup and suck your dinner thru a straw.

Try eating soups and soft foods, like jello, pudding, applesauce. After a week you should be able to eat mostly everything... except what they told you not to eat.
