If you have consistent bad breath AFTER you brush, floss and scrape your tongue then do not use Listerine! Listerine and other mouth washes have alcohol in it and cause dryness in your mouth. Believe me it makes the problem worse! Gum and mints are useless too. I should know. I have had this problem too for many years and I tried everything and I mean everything!!! until I found a sympathetic doctor who prescribed Tri-Oral Rinse. It is a non alcoholic mouth rinse and you use it twice a day; once in the morning and again before you go to bed. You must use it consistently and after two weeks of continual use your breath will be normal. Yes normal. Check it out. And for those people out there who think that if a persons breath stinks it is due to poor hygiene think again. I have perfect gums (according to my dentist) and see him twice a year. Consistent bad breath is caused by uncontrollable bacteria in your mouth. SOME PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. If you are healthy, do not have stomach, sinus or mouth problems then it is the bacteria. Trust me. Try Tri-Oral Rinse. It cleared the problem for me.

Besided just brushing you need to also be flossing daily and it is a good idea to brush your tongue. You could also try using a daily fluoride mouth rinse (this will make your breath smell nicer because besides being good for your teeth, fluoride also inhibits the growth of the nasty bacteria in your mouth)

Actually I read a news article a few weeks ago that said mints or those listerine sp? pocket things work as a quick fix, but steer clear of gum because it only causes the bacteria in you spit to reak just a little more than you'd think.

It might be gingivitis. See a dentist. You likely need a good cleaning under your teeth, which is uncomfortable, but will get rid of the gingivitis, and make your breath smell better.

Maybe it is halitosis. Did you mention it to your dentist? I have also heard that dieting can make your breath smell, or if you have stomach problems like maybe an ulcer. I'm not sure but I have heard my mom say that.

Bad breath is caused by several different things, coming down with a virus, some medications can cause bad breath, bad oral hygiene, and if you are a diabetic.

Brush your tongue.

Oh, and go see your dentist because you may have a gum infection.

are you possibly dieting?? this can cause your body to go into a stage called ketosis ...your body starts producing glycogens..resulting in acetones in your breath...making it have a characteristic odour. so it may not be caused by what you eat..it may be what you are Not eatting.
