Well, I've had three crowns put in and there has been no pain at all after the Novocaine has worn off. I'm assuming that it would be the same for a cap. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

not too much pain just uncomfortable for a day after Novocaine wears off. I have had 2 crowns w/ in the last month. I was very nervous before i got them but they numb you and you dont feel anything. It takes a couple hours though. Very long process! They dont give you any pain medicine. Have fun....maybe not! haha

tooth caps dont hurt at all. when they first put it in the only thing you'll feel is a little push and maybe 2 seconds of pain. after the medicane wears off you dont feel anything. GOOD LUCK! and dont be afraid

You shouldn't have any pain after the procedure, maybe a little gum tenderness around the tooth but nothing major. Fairly simple procedure to have done, very common.
