It is now day 4 of my wisdom teeth removal recovery time, and I have a few more questions. To all those who have answered my queston already, thank you. But, I do have more.

1) Is it normal for swelling to still be persistent on the left side of my face? It is just as big as yesterday. I admit, I did not do the warm compresses as much as the cold, so maybe if I do that all day today it will go down. What do you think?

2) Am I in the clear for dry sockets now?

3) I have to go back to work Tuesday, and I work somewhere where I'll be in close contact with customers. How do I get rid of this breath? Plain brushing? When can I floss again?

4) What does the healing tissue in the "hole" look like? Is it dark? The reason I ask is because when I woke up this morning, I felt a small piece of stuff on my tongue (and, sorry for being graphic) it was smelly and whitish/clear. Was it the clot? I don't think so. I think it was justa piece of food that got stuck up there.
Again, thanks!!

I think you're worrying WAY too much about this, but the swelling is normal unless you have a low grade fever. Then contact your dentist. If you had dry sockets you would know it by now because it's extremely painful. However, keep taking precautions like no drinking from straws, no smoking, etc. Use an antiseptic mouth wash. Brush as you normally would. You're going to have bad breath for a little while. Just tell people why so they are not offended. The hole will heal up in a while and what you're experiencing is just dead tissue from the surgery...or perhaps a piece of food. Anyway, don't get anxiety about all of this. You'll be feeling so much better in a couple of weeks. Call your dentist when you need pain meds and enjoy the rest of your time off. Good Luck.

For some people like myself there is no pain when your wisdom teeth come in. I have all of my wisdom teeth and it never hurt at all. And if it doesn't cause crowding then you do not have to take them out.

well, the whole left side of my face was swollen for about 1 week and bruised (lovely shade of green) for 1 1/2 weeks, just as I looked myself again I had to go back to get the ones on the right side out, so basically I was in pain for a month and looked like an alien goblin for just as long. Good luck.
