I have a friend who needs braces, and the ortho said that they will have to remove one tooth on the bottom due to the overcrowding. This patient's bottom back teeth (molar and bicuspids are all decently placed and aligned, but the front 6 teeth (incisors and canines) are like this: two central incisors are somewhat normally placed. Two lateral incisors are pushed back extremly far. The two canines are angled in and protrude out and obstruct most of the view of the two lateral incisors.

At first, we thought that the removal was to be of one of the lateral incisors, as the canine could be pushed to fill in most of that gap. Upon further review, it looks like the ortho actually chose one of the central incisors (24) to be removed.

I know nothing about dentistry, so I have two questions. 1) is removing one tooth normal? I'm worried about symmetry. 2) if it is, is removing a CENTRAL incisor normal??? (This patient is a professional and could use without a gap in the front!)

I got a family member who self medicates with insulin. She needs it - how much is too much? She has blood sugar levels over 400 and struggles with depression. She seems to take 3 full shots a day. Is this normal or should I be concerned? She also has a heart condition and has had two strokes. How much insulin should she get? I dont know but I dont want to rock the boat if I am over-reacting.

I Have pretty bad knee pain my back only hurts a little but latly it has hurt. my left knee has osgood shlaters, and the right i hut once now when i touch the right knee with like a needle i cant feel the needle and both my knees hurt when i crouch or stand up and run, my back hurts latly not alot of pain but some. My Football ended in september and arthritis runs on my moms side and worst of all is im only 14 what the hell is the pain possibly about. and if it is somthing like arthrits will i play football to much longer i would like the help of sombody who knows what the hell there talking about and im not at a doctor yet because im going in like a week and i just want a idea what he willl say

My dad picked up some nasty cold/flu about a week ago he has had a nasty cough and sounded full of cold. my mum now feels this coming on and so do i.
Is there anything herbs that i could use to help my body fight a cold/flu or anything that would help boost my defenses.
I have had 2 colds in the space of 2 months and i dont want to be stuck with this for xmas :(

Also i guss my body is run down from the bad sleeping routeens i have and my eating times are upside down.
I have breafst lunch time then a hour after i have lunch then dinner ,dinner time. This is because i dont wake up untill lunch time.

at the end of october, my bf had a kidney stone. apparently it wasnt his 1st either. he is older than i am, im only 21. i remember i could hear him scream when he passed it. they made him piss into a strainer that fit on the toilet. when he finally did pass it, after seeing it & how big it was, i cant believe a man could pass something so big and hard through his penis, no wonder he screamed when it came out. anyways, now that i recently found out that im pregnant. ive heard some people say that passing a kidney stone for a man is like childbirth. my bf said that i should prepare for a lot of pain & that i may want to hurt him in the delivery room, he said he based this off his ex-wife when she had their kids. he said its not meant to scare me, but is telling me the truth based off his experiences. He said the only good thing is that i'll be able to get a lot of pain reduction whereas with his stone, he had to stand over the toilet & aim his penis for a strainer!

I found out that my friend's dad died, either today or yesterday - he had cancer. she'd told me about his cancer, and about all the treatment etc. it wasn't going well, but i didn't expect him to die so soon. me, along with loads of other people, are really upset - loads of people were crying at school today. i don't think my friend was in school, i'm not sure when she'll be coming back, but when she does i don't know what to say to her. i'll probably end up crying, which will probably make her feel worse. i can't imagine what hell she must be going through. what do i say? it's such an awful thing to happen, especially now.

i just took out my braces and i have to wear a retainer now. i'm just wondering if wearing a retainer will restrict the growth of my jaw because i'm 16 and i want it to grow some more.

This man, 40 yrs old, lives with mom in a 2 bedroom apt., has his own room, works every day & says he chooses to live at home with Mom because she's "sickly" & she "forgets" things. He also said he didnt see the point in paying all that rent for his own place when all he does is work, come home & go to sleep. He smokes weed, drinks (sometimes, I guess), but I dont know if the smoking/drinking is habitual, I know once he came by to see me he was high off weed & once he came by with a bottle of Bailey's, other times he didnt smoke or drink around me but I dont know how much he does this stuff when he isnt around me & is with his friends, who also smoke & drink. He's had failed relationships, says he "gives his all" & gets hurt & that he stays away from getting involved with chicks because he doesnt want to wind up feeling the feelings that come with being involved in a relationship. He also seems to be kinda boring, but a very nice person. If anything is wrong, what's wrong with HIM??

I used to have suicidal thought and my home life isnt all that great. I am usually very tired and no energy. I always feel best when i am at work or school but bottle up a lot of my rage and anger. When i feel sadness, i donbt show it nost of the time.

sometimes i dont feel anything at all when i really should. Mom ignores the fact that i may be suffering from this and i dont know what to do...

Really, i am stressed out a lot, i feel i cant do anything right for my family, and i feel i am treated differently than how they treat my little sister.

Is there something wrong with me or is it just nothing?

Okay i gotta quick question, i started birth control last month and now when it came time for my period it was reallly light more like just spotting. only lasted 2 days.

I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and have trying for a baby for a long time. I have had no periods since October but after doing 3 pregnancy tests which were negative, I went to the doctor who diagnosed me with PCOS. But now, my breasts feel bigger and my nipples are painful. And I keep peeing.... I have to wake up really, really early in the morning to go to the toilet. I don't drink any more fluids than I usually do. I go a lot in the daytime too. Am I pregnant? Is this possible when I havnt had a period for three mths? Or is this just one of the PCOS symptoms? By the way, I am not on any fertility treatment at the moment. Please help me!!!

i had my teeth pulled 1 month and 1 week 29 of them, then they put my dentures in right away. just been eating mac & cheese, soft foods. been trying harder things but just doesn't work yet. i go back to dentist jan 15th for alinement. want to know if cuz i had my teeth put in right away it takes that much longer for the gums to heal. dentist told me about 6 to 8 weeks. do you think i should leave my teeth out longer periods of time for them to heal faster? i do take them out at nite. i'm dying for a pizza etc.. how long will that be does anyone think? thankyou very much
