Okay i gotta quick question, i started birth control last month and now when it came time for my period it was reallly light more like just spotting. only lasted 2 days.
1) is this normal
2) am i still protected while taking the inactive pills, even if i am not on my period?

1 yes, mine usually lasts three days while on the pill
2 yes, you are protected at the 99% effectiveness of the pill. Which means any time you have sex you DO risk the chance of pregnancy, its only 1% but it can still happen to you.

Yeah its totally normal...dont worry... but u have to be on them six months for ur body to totally adjust to not ovulating and releasing an egg.... so ur flow and things might vary for the next few cycles until ur body adjustes... if u decided to go off them to become pregnant, then it may take up to six months for ur body to release an egg due to the fact u had been on bc for a long period of time... just to throw in some more info...

But the key to bc being 99% effective is to make ur daily intake consistant.. u cant take it at 9 one morning and then the next day take it at 9 PM... this will decrease the effectiveness... so try to put urself on a schedule... I am a pharmacy tech, so we get this same question on a regular bases to those who are new to bc!
