Seriously, I can't believe how dangerous our world is and yet people continually overprescribe drugs causing these strains to mutate. I think if you read this you will be shocked to know just how serious all these infections can be.

I think Peter might have meant evolving in the sense that they are mutating.

I do agree that antibiotic soaps etc. are extremely harmful and encourage this mutation.

Why our governments, that KNOW this, don't step in and BAN THIS is beyond me.

It's primarily because there is money to be made by illness. Until THAT changes, I don't think government will move fast enough on these issues.

HAND SANITIZERS by the way, should be the method of CHOICE here. They use alcohol to kill bacteria, which is different than an ANTIBIOTIC which encourages RESISTANCE.

And yes, good bacteria (probiotics) seem to be being added to foods all the time. Lacidophillus (sp) are really good bacteria contained in your gut, which antibiotics destroy along with bad ones. That is why yogurt is good, but now they are adding this stuff to everything, and I don't know how much I trust that either really. You should take Lacidophillus for two weeks after being on antibiotics to replenish it.

You are SO right man.. I mean, bacteria continue to adapt and overcome ways to kill them.. its evolution. They will always keep adapting.
I went to a symposium at harvard U last year, a professor gave a talk entitled "Are We Too Clean?" it was about how we use antibacterial everything, from dish soap, to soaps and toothpastes, to cleenex.. etc. Bacteria and viruses will adapt and become resistant, Staph and Tuberculosis are 2 examples of this already... its scary man!
I do my part, I dont get flu shots dont use antibacterial cleenex or soaps... I think Im healthier than those that do, because my immune system has seen more.

The public, as usual, is lacking education on this topic. General public thinks that antibacterial everything is good. They have no clue that bacteria mutate and this rate is increasing due to our over-use of antibiotics. People just are not aware of this. We are creating bacterial monsters. Local news should broadcast a snippit on "health" topics, and yea use the "Are we too clean." presentation in that broadcast. (I saw this presentation also. At Tufts School of Medicine back in 2000. Great presentation!) 60 minutes should do this topic. We just need more public awarness.
Bacteria are smart little buggars. They are just trying to live man, so we cannot blame them.
I would like to see a full force Probiotics wave of products. Friendly bacteria may be a nice alternative to antibiotic. Bacteria can be our friends too you know.
Let's all hug a lactobacillus acidophilus today!

First of I would just like to say Peter V you sir are an idiot. This is in no way evolution because evolution is the beggining of a new species. These are the same virus just with resistance to a drug. But anyway, the answer to your question is that we will have to develop new drugs in an attempt to destroy this "super-bacteria." If not then we can only hope that its resistance ends up being a harmful mutation and kills it off in the long run.

i don't see a issue in this. If a servicemember has been keeping inner maximum assurance, they have been choosing up the fee with Tricare, (because tricare continuously is secondary while there is different assurance)what's the version between that and the VA? So, the servicemember has already been paying bigger expenses through fact Tricare envisioned them to %. up maximum persons of the tab. Oh and Froghead, the unique bill proposed with the help of Obama had greater funds for the VA, notwithstanding it became cut back all the way down to a million.2M with the help of congress in the process the main suitable tiers of approving the bill. And remember, that quantity is above and previous what they get each and every three hundred and sixty 5 days already.
