I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and have trying for a baby for a long time. I have had no periods since October but after doing 3 pregnancy tests which were negative, I went to the doctor who diagnosed me with PCOS. But now, my breasts feel bigger and my nipples are painful. And I keep peeing.... I have to wake up really, really early in the morning to go to the toilet. I don't drink any more fluids than I usually do. I go a lot in the daytime too. Am I pregnant? Is this possible when I havnt had a period for three mths? Or is this just one of the PCOS symptoms? By the way, I am not on any fertility treatment at the moment. Please help me!!!

it could be symptoms of pcos or possible onset of a period..

often symptoms of pcos are similar to that of pregnancy ,

my friend has pcos and is trying for a pregnancy. we talk at length about different symptoms and things so i know quite a bit about it.

you should go to the doctors and ask for a blood pregnancy test, which will confirm if you are or aint pregnant. once thats been established if your not ask to be refered to a fertility expert.

my friend has just been put on clomid. it helps people who dont ovulate to ovulate, i will tell her you were asking about this and get her to drop you a post.

also could it be possible that you have type 2 diabetes, i know my friend does. that makes her need the toilet LOTS.

There is always the possibility that you are pregnant so you must rule that out or you will continue to worry. I have PCOS and conceived my first child after not having a period for 2 years...there is always hope and I never had to have any treatment. I have 3 children..age 7 , 9 ,11 and only had about five periods in between conceiving them all !!
The problem with this is that the symptoms, as you say, are the same for both and the imbalance in your hormones can fluctuate quite dramatically.
If you're not pregnant try and seek some assistance from your GP as to your next step. A tablet to induce ovulation may be all you need.

Hey Pretty Star

I have pcos and sometimes those symptoms can be realted to both of the problems, Pregnancy and pcos, since your last cycle were October and you've tested Neg with and hpt its best to get a Blood test now, I am to late my last cycle were October 11th I could feel the pressure of af coming, all those symptoms I've had before and I wasn't pregnant, I think its time for you to start treating your pcos, I am on metformin it worked for the 1st 2 months but now I guess my dose have to upper, it would take somet time for you to get the right treatment for you to conceive but it can happen, after taking metformin for three months and you haven't concieve then your gyno would want to give you clomid to help you ovulate, not every woman with pcos can conceive natural, some it takes a real long time, I have been trying for 4 years and now I feel as if there's hope

Yes you can still be pregnant despite not having a period for a while, if you've continued to ovulate. I never realised this was possible, until I conceived 3 babies during really large timescales between periods!

However, now for the bad news, your body could easily be playing evil tricks on you. My husband and I tried for a baby for ages (I've also got PCOS) and I went through loads of symptoms like yours and I was so convinced I was pregnant that I told my mum, but sadly I wasn't.
Ask for a blood test to check for pregnancy as they're more senstive and accurate than the urine ones.

It could just be a mind thing, because im a similar situation myself. I havent had a period since october, and my gp thinks it could be polycystic ovaries, all pregnancy tests say negative although at first i really believed i was. it could be a phantom pregnancy or you could actually be pregnant. either get a pregnancy test or ask for a blood one at the doctors. if they come back negative ask for a scan to be sure, this is what im going to do next week. but i know how you feel as i want a baby badly and go through these symptoms regularly. good luck.

Your breast changes could be down to hormones....maybe you will get a period soon.
Do another test to set your mind at ease.
