Previous question: so my husband doesn't really know much about nutrition and working out. He just recently started eating veggies and fruit.. like within the last few weeks. Anyways... he has gained a little fat since we have been married and is very self conscious about it. He wants to lose weight but he is obsessed with being stronger. So for the last few weeks he has been lifting weights but very little cardio. And he still has the same gut but his arms a little tighter. He is wanting to lose his gut but "be stronger". I suggested doing more cardio until he gets his fat off while still doing strength training with less weights and more reps to tone up. Does anyone have any suggestions for me... that i can give to my hubby. He is about 230 pounds and 6'1.

^^^^^ previous question just to give you background...

My husband is wanting to introduce a protein shake to his meals... Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with using the protein and which ones are best etc....

I have an ultrasound tomorrow and I was wondering what kind of gown will they ask me to wear. I've read about the procedure and it says - "they will ask you to remove all your clothes and wear a medical gown"

What does it look like.
Are we allowed to wear undergarments
If its one of those typical gowns that comes up to your knees and is tied at the back - then for physician to scan your abdomen - he will have to lift the gown - so what is covering your privates.

I hope you see my concern - I guess I'm more worried about the procedure than the results :)

Thanks

Would you socially and physically isolate yourself or would you try to spend as much time as you could with the people you cared about the most, because you did not know how much time you had left with them even if it ment exposeing them to the disease? What about if you unknowingly spread the disease just by being up and doing everyday things. What would you do?

I am looking for personal experiences from taking buspar... How much did you take (mg) Did it work? Did it relieve anxiety? Did you gain weight? Any side effects? Sexual side effects, good or bad? Did you take it with an SSRI ( prozac, zoloft etc. ) or alone?

My son is 9 years old and has been on Adderal XR for the last 2 years. His father is not changing insurance and brand name medications will not be covered. Does anybody know of any extended release medications that are in generic form? I know that Adderal comes in a generic but it is not extended release, which my son needs. He takes two medications and they will cost about $500.00 a month. I don't qualify for any government assistance and even went to the manufactor and couldn't get any help there either. Any suggestions???

....ten years ago i decided to eat a double cheese burger, hey i've been smashing their fries for so long why not add a burger. I think i took three bites may be four when all of a sudden my stomach girggled then cramp. At first i shook it off but then my buttocks began to tighten and my stomack tore up. I closed my eyes for two seconds and said "dear god please let me make it home".And i did. It was like a volcanic eruption and i was sick for two days.
Do you think micy D's try to kill me ?
Have you ever heard of a hit list?
I wonder what did they use to carry out this unjustly deed.

How would you critique my lunch, as someone trying to lose weight

Breakfast: Special K, Rice milk, an apple

Lunch: Apple, grapes, Glass of O.J. and half a pita bread stuffed with tofu, pickles, etc (like a fake "Egg salad" in pita bread) lime popcicle (80 calories)

How diet-wise would you say that lunch was??

BTW.. the popcicle cleanses my palate and puts a "finish" to the meal so I don't want to keep munching or eat another half of a pita bread..

Ok... For a while, I wasn't able to get hard around my girlfriend. Last night - I was ready to go (although, she was too tired). I thought I needed Viagra, therapy, surgery. I thought my diet might've been off. Maybe my blood pressure was high. I started running again. I figured maybe it's anxiety...but I was still a mess.

Anyway...I went from masturbating 3X a day...to maybe once every 3 days. I feel amazing. My hard-on's are very intense and when I climax, everything shoots out like 5 feet. I'm much more easily aroused. I know there's not suppose to be a connection...but damn. How could this be happening?

I have been on and off a bunch of different kinds of antidepressants for the past 2 yrs. I have tried getting off them several times, and was not successful. A few days ago, I stopped taking them again. I weened off them slowly. I went from taking 50 mg of Luvox and 75mg of Effexor, to taking 25mg of Luvox and 37.5mg of Effexor for 2 wks, then stopped completely a few days ago.

I hate being on medication. I am always tired, I feel as if I am living some unnatural life, and I have noticed that my memory has even become worse! Today, I feel like crap. I am very nervous because I really want to finally be successful at getting off meds. Should I fight this crappy feeling because in time, my brain will learn to produce antidepressant chemicals on its own?

Or should I just notice that if I am not feeling well, I just need to get back on the meds?

Will I ever be okay without medication? Will my brain ever learn to produce these chemicals on its own? :(

My mood swings and emotions become so extreme right before my cycle. I'm talking full blown crying fits and feelings of hopelessness and severe agitation. I never had these symptoms until about a year ago. I have also noticed that my level, in general, of energy has completely decreased. Is this a hormonal thing? What is changing in my body?

So here's the deal:

I recently bought McCann's Instant Steel-Cut Oatmeal, and I'm wondering about any possible nutritional differences between the instant and regular stove-top. In case you haven't seen it, instant steel-cut comes in individual packets and is "cooked" only by adding boiling water, the same as instant rolled oatmeal (i.e. Quaker).

When I asked about instant vs. stove-top rolled oats, my doctor said there are no significant nutritional differences, but since the main health appeal of steel-cut is the coarse grain, it doesn't seem possible for the finer ground instant to be as nutritious.

I can't find much info about this, so any help is appreciated!

I went to the doctor today. He gave me my blood test results. Everything seems to be fine except my (good) cholesterol part. He said my cholesterol is 0.75 when it should be at least 1.25. He told me to exercise, drink red wine, or eat foods with Omega 3 like codfish/salmon/etc.

Anymore ideas for me to make it higher?

(Was posted yesterday night, but figured re-doing it today would get more exposure)

I never got the lump (about dime-sized) checked out, due to it never changing size, or causing pain (just very mild discomfort if it's hit directly). Anyways, a few days ago, it suddenly started hurting, even with slight touch, and the redness has increased since. Any clue what might be going on? (I have already scheduled a doctor app, but it's not until Nov. 6th, so I'm curious!)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/PureMuttz/untitled-3.jpg

I forgot to mention....the lump itself has been there for YEARS, that's what I mean when I say 'old'.
I don't think it's a ''boil'', since what I've read about them is "A boil generally starts as a reddened, tender area. Over time, the area becomes firm and hard." I've had the firm & hard lump for years before any tenderness occurred.
I don't think it's a simple ''ingrown hair'', either. The area seems too large for something like that. (dime-size)
