My "favorite" kind of cancer [meaning the one I personally find most interesting to study, being that I want to be an oncologist when I grow up] is brain cancer. The brain is so complex and such a mystery even in our day and age that studying it and diseases and conditions relating to it make for good discussion topics.

www.cancer.org is a very thorough, informational site that I suggest you check out

Leukemias and other blood cancers are also interesting to study due to the vastness of the circulatory system and the affect on the rest of the body that a blood disease can have.

Hope this helps and good luck! ;-)

Try these types of cancer:
Blood cancers - leukemia and lymphoma. It used to be that mostly young people died from leukemia and lymphoma, but with advances in chemotherapy and marrow grafts, it has shifted to being more deadly for older adults (>65)
Brain cancer - glioblastoma is a very fatal, difficult to treat and unfortunately, too common brain cancer.
Pancreatic cancer- another difficult to treat cancer with a high mortality.
Melanoma - an unfortunately too common cancer which can be quite preventable in some people.

Testicular cancer is a good one to research. It is common in younger men and not enough people are aware of it.

Mesothelioma is interesting because it's rare, and associated with asbestos exposure.
Sarcomas are interesting because they can occur all over the body, anywhere soft tissue is present (i.e. Ewing's sarcoma comes from bone marrow),
