I exercise after breakfast..but what confuses me is that if I burn off the calories I ate for breakfast and maybe then some..if I eat lunch and dinner wouldn't the exercising be all for nothing since i gain those calories back from the next two meals?

I'm 255lbs/15 years old, and im trying to lose weight, but i can't seem to find a good routine.

I'm writing about an individual who was oppressed, abused, ridiculed, and neglected during childhood to the point of not talking and hiding (even as a child of 2 or 3 hid in a closet to avoid the mother). This continued to some extent into teenage years. Many mistakes were made and opportunities lost even as an adult. The person is now able to join in conversations without the "tremendous" fear that was present in past years, joins in group activities, etc., but is still somewhat socially withdrawn. This person was "damaged" by another, but is this a psychiatric disorder? The person is very intelligent (IQ 150+) and has no problem conversing about common interests. One otherwise would not be aware of the problem just to observe from a distance. This is definitely not Asperger's. What is the diagnosis?

I've had these ticks for (seemingly) my whole life - I honestly can't remember when I didn't. My "current" tick is in my neck, where I kind of extend my muscles out - it distorts my face a bit, though I try to hide it, but it makes me feel much more comfortable until the next few seconds when the next tick appears.

Is there any serious health issue that could be the cause of this? Can this lead to any serious health issue?

Ive tried controlling them myself, but I give up. I need help! I'm a freak!

Please, only serious responses only...

My daily routine consists of waking up at 6am, eating one serving of Healthy Start cereal with one cup of skim milk. At 9am, I have either an orange, banana, or a cup of low fat yogurt. For noon I have a Weight watchers "Smart One" tv dinner, a low calorie snack at 2, then I run/walk 4 miles, I drink a bottle of water with Propel in it, and for dinner I have a Healthy Shoice TV dinner. I do this every day. Will I lose?

I have had 2 surgerys on l5s1, making my disk hair thin and shaped weird. A NEW herniated disk on l5s1 that "may" be impinging on right s1 nerve root. SEVERE DDD in both disks, and a buldging disk l4l5. I also feel I injured more 2 days after my last MRI was taken, so these results may be even worse.
My options are PT and stay on narcotics the rest of my life, or a 2 level fusion is suggested. Being in so much pain, I agreed to have the referral to a spine surgeon, but I am having 2nd thoughts. I am afraid to have the fusion, and still have to be in misery and on narcotics.
I only know what I can read on google about the 2 level fusion. It seems the opions might be byest (sp) because they all come from the doc's. I understand it is not a cure for pain, but to help releive it, which means I might still have to take pills and be miserable? And if I don't have it, my back is only going to get worse and I might just be avoiding the inevitable. What do you think?

Hi, im 15 years old, and this is the first time that this has ever happened to me. Last night i got my period. All day before that i felt really sick, with things such as headaches and feeling like im going to throw up. When i woke up thismorning i didnt feel to great. I had the most horrible cramps i think i ever had. I took some midol and felt better. But only 2 hours later the cramps are back and i cant take anymore becuase its every 4-6 hours. I feel like throwing up, with a horible headache and it wont go away. I dont know if its because if im hungry, but the thought of eating anything makes me feel sick. And when trying to walk up the steps, by the time i got the the top i was short of breath. I also have hot and cold swings. I dont know what to do, im supposed to go on a lil vacation this weekend with a friend but at the rate i am feeling i really dont want to. All i want to do is lay down. Please tell me whats wrong, its really starting to scare me.

I mean go to bed at 9pm at a weekend and will easily sleep through till gone 12 the next day. I know this is really unhealthy but if I don't have that much sleep I'm a nightmear. Also when Im at work I still go to bed about 9ish up at 7 and find myself needing to sleep at 3ish even if I try and fight it. Any ideas what it is and what to do? My doctor just tells me to train myself to sleep for 6 hrs a night. Yeah right, i'm a walking zombie the next day.

I'm trying to get a handle on HIV tests. I'm told (he ELISA) test searchs for "antibodies". Are antibodies just White blood cells? Can't white blood cells show up for a million different reasons? HOw do we know that the prescence of white blood cells means AIDS OR HIV? Isn't there a test that can test for the ACTUAL virus inside your body?

Lots of HIV conspiracy sites say aids might be a myth even "thestraightdope.com " website says that quote "The Duesberg risk-group theory, which we may as well cover while we're on the subject, isn't quite as bizarre. Peter Duesberg, a respected (until now) virologist at UCal-Berkeley, says human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) doesn't cause AIDS, as is otherwise almost universally believed. Instead, AIDS is caused by a general weakening of the immune system due to drug abuse, disease, parasites, malnutrition" ......link --> http://tinyurl.com/oqqf9 ..he is very respected so im freaked out never know who is right sigh*

OK, here's my problem: About a month ago, I went to the ER because I was waking up and vomiting. They said I had a virus. I was OK for about a month, then I started waking up in the middle of the night. I was usually able to go back to sleep however. Then about a week ago, I was awakened by nausea and vomited a lot. I went to the ER again and they gave me a CT scan, which they said was fine. However, I developed insomnia after this. I have great difficulty sleeping, only get about 3 hours of unrestful sleep a night and often jolt out of sleep with muscle spasms, increased heart rate and eye twitching. I wonder if I may be having panic attacks or seizures. This is really freaking me out. Any help is appreciated.
