a 18 year old female? Can you give me a range? Mine is 100/70 and drops to 80/40 when I stand up (which explains why i pass out).

I am seeing my doctor and I have to wait forever to get an echocardiogram and a holter monitor (for 48 hours). I was diagnosed with postural hypotension and I just wanted some insight on my problem since I have a long wait.

See a cardiologist !
But it sounds to me like you do not have an exercise plan.
Or a cholesterol problem.
Just how do you know these numbers.??

100/70 is normal, perhaps a bit low on the upper number, but still fairly normal. I also have low blood pressure (better than high BP!) You probably should see a doc to make sure there's not a problem with your ticker. Are you on any other meds that could lower your blood pressure?

When standing up, do so as gradually as possible, to prevent blacking out. When laying down, never stand up directly, either. Sit up for a while, then gradually raise yourself up.

When you feel like you're gonna faint in public, try to sit down and lower your head, or if standing, sometimes just hanging my head a bit helps.

I think the average is 120/80. Maybe you should get some blood pressure medicine to regulate your body. 80/40 is way to low.

100/70 is fine. 80/40 is fine, too, unless it sharply drops, as you mention yours does.

80/40 is a little on the low side, but it is better than high, but you need to find out why it's sharply dropping, no matter the number.
