If you treasure your life, then do not exercise if you are not feeling well. Common cold is a widespread and mild infection of the upper respiratory tract caused by virus. Treatment is REST and taking mild analgesics.

Depends on what type of cold. If you have a chest cold, the answer is no because your breathing will not be able to get into a good rhythm and your energy will be depleted.

If you have a head cold/sinus cold you can continue with light exercise as this will allow you to sweat out the germs but you need to be aware of your equilibrium and balance.

A regular cold will make you feel average but there is no reason why you cannot continue with light exercise and sweat out the germs. However, remember you will need more fluids than usual and it is important to rest every other day.

Do what you can, BUT...

COOL DOWN PROPERLY!!!!

One time, I was playing rugby and it started raining. I was fine before, just at practice, no symptoms of anything whatsoever.

It started thundering, and I walked home. No way was I gonna practice in a lightning storm in Florida.

I didn't cool down properly and I got a WICKED cough, really croupy and nasty and debilitating. Even though I walked about 1/2 a mile, it wasn't enough to cool off after I'd been working out really hard.

It wasn't a cold (I had no fever or other symptoms), but you CAN get nasty effects if you don't watch out.

Also, don't get too hot--that can worsen a cough, too. Learned that from having bronchitis for five months.

Take it easy, don't push yourself too much, and it'll probably help move your cold along.

Well, i'm not a doctor, but my mom and dad are doctors, as well as my sister.
They have always told me that the obly thing that can help with a cold is the rest, and that is because then you let the virus to do what's the natural behaviour of the desease and will end naturally without no medicine.
But if you don't help with the rest, then you can provoque it to last longer.

Yes, because the more you sweat the better. Its called sweating out a cold. I dont know why it works, but it does. Works with fevers too.
