My doctor prescribed Medrol for me (which I've never taken before) for asthma. Well, Prednisone does NOT work for me (not even remotely), and I get awful side effects from heart palpitations to a constantly flushed red face, severe heartburn, etc., etc., etc. I was put on Decadron in the ER last month and that worked in 2 days without any of the side effects! I asked the doctor to prescribe Decadron (I explained all my problems with the prednisone), yet he went ahead and called in Medrol, which, after reading about it online, is apparently almost the exact same thing. Is that true? Are Medrol and Prednisone very similar? Is there a high likelihood of me having the same side effects with Medrol as with the Prednisone? Thank you very much!

P.S. Even just reading the generics makes me think that they're so similar! Prednisone vs. Methylprednisolone

I’m definitely not a regular smoker, but from time to time I go with friends to a pub for a drink and drink goes quite well accompanied with a cigarette. What is the possibility to get cancer or heart disease with 3-5 cigarettes per week? What other nasty diseases can I get? Any comments will be appreciated.

I am 19 years old. I weight 112 and i'm 5' 6" i'm also a female. I would like to know if I should gain weight. I'm afraid to because all my friends say I should but they are all bigger. Are they just saying that so I will weigh the same as them or do they actually care? I'm not anorexic i just have a really good Metabolism. Let me know what you think. Also I have not been eating as much as I should I just dont have my appetite right now.

Is it possible to be too healthy?
Ok strange question I know,let me explain.I usually catch at least 2 colds a year usually three like normal,but for the last 5 years I have had nothing,no coughs,colds ect,i've avoided 2 bouts of flu when everyone else around me fell ill and even avoided a very nasty illness that was causing a lot of viral meningitis to occur.I'm not complaining about this no-one wants to be sick,but I can't help but wonder why my immune system has suddenly put up fortified defenses.I don't have the healthiest lifestyle (I could be worse though) and i've been surrounded on all sides by these viruses.Is there anything in paticular that could have caused this & is a negative effect likely to come from it (suddenly weakened immune system?) And if so is there anything I can do to stablise it?

I just got pink eye from my sister and this morning i woke up with pink eye. We called the doctor and got Meds. She said that it would be ok for me to go to this party at 7:00 pm. Also, can I get that stuff you breathe in to knock you out? It's a pretty severe situation. My teeth get cavities whether I take care of them or not, and I usually get to a dentist when the pain becomes blinding, but I'm not a minor anymore, so not under parents' insurance, and so am at a loss.

I am 35 weeks pregnant and have been suffering with gallbladder symptoms( severe heartburn, burning in the ribs, and loss of appetite) doc told me to take zantac.. I have for 2 weeks , and my symptoms are worse.. the last two nights I have had heartburn and indigestion so bad I was dry heving.. today I started experince high abdominal pressure.. not in a specific area,, nausea, dizziness, and lightheadedness.. I just want to know if anyone else has had gallbladder problems ... pregnant or not! I dont want to call the doc and sound stupid... and it doesnt make me feel any better that my husband thinks it is in my head.. any advice?
