I’m definitely not a regular smoker, but from time to time I go with friends to a pub for a drink and drink goes quite well accompanied with a cigarette. What is the possibility to get cancer or heart disease with 3-5 cigarettes per week? What other nasty diseases can I get? Any comments will be appreciated.

I'm not a doctor or know much about smoking except that it's bad for you. But i can tell you right now that you are still at risk for all the diseases that come with smoking. You may not be addicted but you soon will be, if you body doesn't get that nicotine, then your brain goes crazy! You start feeling bad 'till you get that cigarette. And the drinking doesn't help either, that will run down your liver. You should just not go drinking beer, and smoking at bars or parties if you a)want to live long b)don't wanna be looked down upon by many people c)kiss, or speak to people directly and d)don't wanna loose about 10K a year to buying cigarettes.

I am an ex smoker of 6 years and restarted again last year after being smoke free for another six years. My doctor told me that one cigarette a day is just as bad as smoking 2 packs a day. He said it is the point of just being introduced to your lungs that does the damage. And whether you smoke one pack or 10 it is the first cigarette that does it. I guess that's why they say secondhand smoke can give you lung cancer.Trying to quit.... been smoke free for 31 hours and counting!

Smoking is ruiens ur lungs. Not only that... you are giving big tobacco companies more $... and this way... smoking will never be banned in America lol. It should be illegal because it's addicting like marajuana... but it's a multi billion dollar business. They might as legalize marajuana becuase it's 10x less harmful than tobacco. All in all... people are diying because of $... problem solved.

it takes four years for lungs to heal completely from smoke damage.that makes any smokes you smoke dangerous.if you talk to lung cancer specialists they will tell you that how much a person smokes isnt really the problem its the fact that they smoke period.you could smoke one a day or 20 a day it doesnt matter you could get cancer either way

If you are concerned with your health you wouldn't even go to the smokey pub. Secondhand smoke is just as bad as smoking.

But then you have to put it in perspective -- even health fanatics get cancer -- so just enjoy your life the way you want to.
