Monday I got the flu, and I'm just starting to get over it. I had to take Pepto to ease my stomach pain and diarrhea but now I'm bloated. I don't have a fever anymore but am still getting the chills. Three nights in a row I've slept more than 10 hours, with naps during the day. I've developed a cough, similar to bronchitis or an upper respitory infection. My heartbeat seems like it's pretty fast, too. Strange syptoms, I know. Should I just wait for the doctor Monday or could this possibly be pneumonia?

Mine refused to but my reg doc did and then my rheum and orthopedic surgeons accused me of being a drug addict but that was over 10 yrs ago. im afraid to go back there but I need some orthopedic surgeons.I'm wondering if things have changed. That was the mayo clinic 10 yrs ago. and yes I am disabled and have numerous forms of arthritis and painful deformities.

one study reports that the virus that causes shingles may be released into the air from shingles sores. you may be able to prevent spreading the disease by covering the shingles sores with a type of dressing that absorbs fluids and protects the sore (hydrocolloid dressing, such as DuoDerm).4 what does that mean exactly and where can i buy it? thanks

I have read both ways that eating before bed will make you gain weight, even if you have great metabolisim like I do and I have also read that it is not good for you. Anybody got any proof.

I twisted my ankle carrying my sleeping son down stairs. On the last step we both landed on the floor. There was intense pain for 2 to 3 minutes and then a dull ache. There was no swelling or bruising. It has been a month and I still have some dull ache on the inside of my ankle especially in the morning when I stretch my foot out and only sometimes when walking. The pain is not so bad that I need to take anything for it. Just wondering what it is taking so long to heal on such a mild injury. Could be a fracture? I would think there would be swelling if I broke something. Any advice?

Thanks

My dad has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Squamous cell carcinoma Stage IV. The oncologist told us that there is a softball size tumor in his right lung. The cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, his liver, his kidneys, and his lower back. Because of his pain, it could be in the bones as well, but they are not going to check this because the treatment would be the same. With radiation and chemo and if he gave up cigarettes, He has 12-18 months to live. But my dad says he doesnt see the point, and I think he is not going to do treatment or quit smoking. If there is a doctor or an oncologist out there, please tell me what the end result of this will be.

I have had these stuff nose for a couple of months now. I seen a head, nose, and ear doctor but he didn't see anything wrong, he also checked and said I had no polyp. I used nasal spray, nasonex, and taken claritin and also amoxicillin in the past few months but nothing has worked. Another problem is that when I go to bed at night and lay down, Always one side of my nose gets stuffed really bad and can't breathe on that side, but the next night its the other side.
I am just out of ideas and don't know what else to do.
Just wanted to get your suggestions and also to see if any of you had this problem. I am 20 years old by the way.

For years I have been battling with this flushing and reddness. I have tried soaps, predisone, antibiotics, antifungal meds, oils to all to suppress the reddness. When I was a teen I used this stuff called benzamyacin(sp) for acne. I would not doubt it chemically burn my skin from overuse. Can someone reccommend something other than cortisone cream at night on my face. When I stop using the cream it just gets worse, bummer.

I know someone who is hearing voices and they are telling them to do bad things to others and to themself. The parents are getting them help but I am wondering is it a cry for attention or is it something that is fairly common? How can we help him cope with what is going on? The child is only 12 and doesn't want to hear the voices anymore. He also says that he is scared and doesn't want to hurt himself. The parents have checked him into a hospital but as family and a friend what can we do to help him?

Today I was out with friends and I got my arcylic nail ripped back. I thought the acrylic nail would have popped off but It didn't. When I looked down at my nail there was blood under the nail, and my nail felt as though I had, had it spashed with a hammer. I have put peroxide on the nail and then but a band-aid on it so that I did not accidently rip the nail more...does anyone know what I really should be doing...should I attempt to take the acrylic nail off...I really dont want to have too, it hurts so bad!!!

I've been drinking nothing but water, and always drink 100 oz. a day. Currently, I've been doing situps, pushups(20), crunches(50), and well, jumping jacks (100). I increase the situp count by 10 everyday as well. Since we don't have a treadmill, I get on the family's ski tread and work at for 5 mins, though I'm going to try increase that daily too.

I do all these twice a day(morning, evening), but my body seems to have adapted, so I'm going for an afternoon workout as well. As for meals, I eat three times a day, with just cereal for breakfast, fruit for lunch and dinner, and whatever else my mother fixes that's ok.

Is all this adeqaute for a 6'0"+ 200 lb guy that wants to shed embarassing belly fat? I'm thinking of beginning to walk/jog as well, but I wanted input on this first. I'm really not concerned with the weight, just getting rid of that excess fat on the sides of my stomach. I know it's generic, but after a month of this will I see any change?

Thanks much in advance.
