I've been drinking nothing but water, and always drink 100 oz. a day. Currently, I've been doing situps, pushups(20), crunches(50), and well, jumping jacks (100). I increase the situp count by 10 everyday as well. Since we don't have a treadmill, I get on the family's ski tread and work at for 5 mins, though I'm going to try increase that daily too.

I do all these twice a day(morning, evening), but my body seems to have adapted, so I'm going for an afternoon workout as well. As for meals, I eat three times a day, with just cereal for breakfast, fruit for lunch and dinner, and whatever else my mother fixes that's ok.

Is all this adeqaute for a 6'0"+ 200 lb guy that wants to shed embarassing belly fat? I'm thinking of beginning to walk/jog as well, but I wanted input on this first. I'm really not concerned with the weight, just getting rid of that excess fat on the sides of my stomach. I know it's generic, but after a month of this will I see any change?

Thanks much in advance.

You need more cardio to burn fat. You can build muscles all you want, but if you don't do cardio the muscles will just keep getting bigger under the same layer of fat.

Your diet probably doesn't have enough lean protein to help you build muscle. Instead of high-sugar fruit for lunch, try a salad of leafy greens with a steamed chicken breast. For dinner, look for a combo of fresh veggies and lean proteins.

To target belly fat, seriously reduce/eliminate your intake of wheat and dairy. I did this on Dr. Joshi's Holistic Detox and went from 150 -> 120 in three months. I went from a 30" waist to a 26" waist. I highly suggest you check out this book- if you follow the eating plan the pounds will start falling off.

Honestly, I don't think this is the best way to go. You can eat whatever you want as long as it's organic, all-natural, nothing from a box or can and lose weight. Veggies, fruit, protein even starches. Also you are working out too hard. Here's what I do: I eat five mini meals a day. I have a starch, a protein, a vegetable and fruit. I make sure none of it has salt or added crap to it. I eat a bite of protein, a bite of veggie, a bite of fruit and them my starch and continue this cycle until my food is gone. That way, you are eating in correct quantities. Also, eating this way activates the nutrients together causing your metabolism to get faster. I workout five times a week, and on those days I workout, I do it once. I use a program called Slim in 6. It does cardio, yoga (which is excellent) and resistance training (in another words weights). I have done this for six weeks and have really noticed a difference in my definition. I have not lost many pounds as I was already small to begin with but my goal was inches and I'm doing that. I feel good. My mind is clear, my depression is low, my energy is up. Eating natural foods is so easy to do and it gets better everyday. Would you rather spend more money at a health food store and stay healthy or spend a lot of money in the doctor's office or hospital because of bad health? I wish you luck though! Knowledge is power! Read the back of every label and if you can't read the ingredient, don't put it in your body!

I wish more overweight people had it in them, you got it, just keep doing exactly that and stick with it, keep working out hard as you're doing, so long you can stand it.

I know, I do lawn care and I love working myself like that and it took time, but I just kept doing it and I didn't always eat the right stuff so then it took longer but today I don't got an ounce of fat on me... Now this is my 6th year, so consistent maintenance is key, but I was seeing results within months, and really it didn't take a whole year for me to get to feeling right.

It was one of those things, once I got it, I never looked back.

You might want to consider some meals slightly higher in nutritional value, perhaps an All-in-one Vitamin supplement, but stay with that low fat cereal because it has tons of vitamins! I don't know for sure, I mean, fruit for lunch sounds good, maybe a salad some days and see about buying a small $5 bottle of 1-a-day for men or something along those lines, that can help.

But yeah, a little more variety around lunch time.

Make sure you are stretching alot, all of these workouts will mean nothing if you don't stretch before and after. Don't move to fast, increasing your count by 10 every day is a little much maybe 10 every week.

It's not helping your body to do situps and pushups everyday. You need to do them every other day, when you do situps and pushups it is tearing your muscles, the next day it builds more.

Here's a good routine! Pushups, situps-Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Jumping Jacks, and jogging-Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.
It works trust me.

It sounds like you are off to a great star! Good job in mixing it up, too. It's important to try new things and rotate exaercises in order to keep your muscles guessing! I would also add some weight training to your routine, maybe 2 or 3 times a week to start. Start with low weights and high reps (3 sets of 12 to 15). Even though it's not focusing on your belly, any addition of muscle to your body will REALLY increase your fat burning capabilities. Did you know that muscle actually burns fat while you are asleep?!
All in all, it sounds like you are doing great, and you should be proud of yourself. Give it time, though. It can take a couple of months to see results. Good luck!

sweetie, please stop! you will injury your muscle groups even perhaps over-stretching one in each and every of them. Take an afternoon or 2 (or 3) to loosen up till the discomfort is going away! Get a facial, rubdown, watch a action picture, bubble bath...something it rather is relaxing. very own tale: i had to loose weight and on my FIRST day of exercising, i did 350 sit down-ups. i be responsive to now that u could desire to commence off with stretches and prefer 10-30 situps an afternoon and then enhance ur variety. i did no longer do this and ended up hurting my abdomen muscle groups for 3 weeks. i could no longer stretch my abdomen muscle groups that plenty and it injury everytime i lied down and sat down. :( now that i think of im greater advantageous i do the workouts the the appropriate option way and if i think discomfort then i take a quick smash and commence at it later. I nevertheless experience the faint discomfort in my abdomen yet no longer tha extensive anymore. TAKE A smash=it fairly is going to do you WOOONDERS.

You will lose your belly fat if you continue to exercise.
weigh yourself now and take your measurements, write them down and recheck in one months time.....
Try Running also or swimming, and with your crunches - try bringing your right elbow to your left knee and vice versa, twisting your sides* to get rid of the flab much quicker.YOu'll see a big difference*
Eating more than cereal for breakfast and fruit for lunch and dinner...have an egg (protein) with some lean ham (added to egg omelette, maybe a tomatoe chopped up, green onion...one slice of whole wheat toast, and orange juice. for breakfast
OR for lunch, have a garden salad , with yogurt and melba toast
or dinner....Chicken,(baked, or broiled) Fish, veggies, fruits, skim milk, whole wheat grains (Rice and pasta) ....No cheesy or creamy sauces..Salads, 8-10 glasses of water per day, stay away from pop , cake, cookies, ice creams, pies, candy, choc. bread (unless whole wheat)......Keep at this and in one month you WILL SEE A BIG DIFFERENCE and FEEL SOO MUCH BETTER* :)
