All of the information that I read about quitting smoking says that you will have a cought during the first several weeks. This is not the case with me.

Then count your lucky stars...not everyone is the same, so not all the info you read could be correct in your case...

I used different stop smoking aids at different times-just to tell you that I DID quit. I did not experience the cough either any of the times; I also wondered.
I never heard of this but after I ate I had a cough and I believe it was the action of food going through the esophagus that kind of had a massaging effect on the pharynx and caused the "productive cough".
Also, you may notice if you keep your arms above your head you will also have a "productive cough". (like when sleeping or resting in a chair)
This is just past experience but I never read it anywhere. I'm not unique I'm sure.

Don't start again! You might just be lucky, or the cigs didn't cause you to have a coughing problem. Alot of people that smoke, also have asthma and/or COPD. Also depends on how long you smoked, maybe you didin't do it long enough to develop one. congrats on quiting, hardest thing I've had to do, and if they develop a healthy cig completly free of problems, I'd start again!
