Monday I got the flu, and I'm just starting to get over it. I had to take Pepto to ease my stomach pain and diarrhea but now I'm bloated. I don't have a fever anymore but am still getting the chills. Three nights in a row I've slept more than 10 hours, with naps during the day. I've developed a cough, similar to bronchitis or an upper respitory infection. My heartbeat seems like it's pretty fast, too. Strange syptoms, I know. Should I just wait for the doctor Monday or could this possibly be pneumonia?

Sounds like you've had a flu virus ...stomach first and now chest. Do you hear yourself wheezing? or very loose on your chest when coughing? Are you coughing up green or yellow phlem? If so...get to the docs right away ...it could be bronchial phnumonia...or something else. It's a sign of major infection on your chest and you may need antibiotics. With you sleeping several hours at a time..is part of the flu but also wearing you out from the coughing. Go see your doc. Better to be safe than sorry* people have died from phnumonia thinking it's just a cough it will go away soon. ~

If you have not already visited your doctor, I think you should do so. If you are having difficulty breathing, then pneumonia is a possibility; if you think that's the case, then a trip to the ER is not a bad idea. It sounds as though you might have had some experience with bronchitis; trust your instincts, and if they're telling you that you're sick, get to the ER.

it doesn't sound like pneumonia partially because you don't have a fever and you have stomach symptoms but those can be attributed to the flu, but to be diagnosed you really need the doctor to listen to your lungs and to get a chest x-ray, it could possibly be pneumonia but I think if you don't really terribly sick you could wait till monday
