Today I was out with friends and I got my arcylic nail ripped back. I thought the acrylic nail would have popped off but It didn't. When I looked down at my nail there was blood under the nail, and my nail felt as though I had, had it spashed with a hammer. I have put peroxide on the nail and then but a band-aid on it so that I did not accidently rip the nail more...does anyone know what I really should be doing...should I attempt to take the acrylic nail off...I really dont want to have too, it hurts so bad!!!

Ouch! I've had plenty of acrylics ripped off and back, so I feel ya. Hurts like a mofo.

I wouldn't suggest dragging it off if you're in terrible pain. Wait til the swelling goes down a bit. No use hurting yourself even more, right?

To ge the nail off without acetone, I would suggest soaking it in water for a long while. I used to have acrylic nails and work in food services back in highschool. I spent a lot of time washing dishes and washing my hands, and those little buggers were constantly coming off.

Hi - I have this happen to me all the time - you don't have to tell me how much it hurts - you did the best thing possible - next you should go to where you had the nails put on - at least at my place they always know what to do! Sometimes you just have to get it taken off and give your nail a rest for about a week - Good Luck

take the fake off or your real nail will not get the oxygen it needs to heal....you're going to have to put some antibiotic on it. (Neosporin etc.) and let the air at it...take the fake OFF...or you're going to have more of a mess than you do now....
