I do this! My boyfriend will always point it out. I never noticed that I do it before him. I'll laugh at something and then get a really serious look on my face. I know for me It's hard for me to allow myself to feel happiness and joyful emotions. I grew up in a very dysfunctional house where everyone was depressed and felt more comfortable when everyone else was depressed as well...so this is where my behavior most likely comes from.

No, I dont think this is normal at all is there something you are stressed about or something that is bothering you? or maybe you are going through some sort of change with your body? or would it be that time of the month? lol it could be anything.. but if your not stressed or not having the time of the month thingy maybe you should speak wih a doctor about this.

This sounds normal to me but it sounds like you are concerned so one test you might want to take is at the webmd site for bipolar depression. It's for people who go from one extreme to another.

hi,
you could be rapidly recycling your moods as some have with bipolarism. i am bipolar..and before my meds, i could laugh and cry at the same time... the ups and downs were very hard on me. i don't know if its normal for you or not, but it certainly wasn't for me. you can always check it out..starting with your family doctor. good luck!
