I have gotten consistent mouth ulcers now for about 7 to 8 years, i have tried everything to rid myself of them and they will go away for a little bit and then come back again... what causes them and does anyone have any other methods of getting rid of them?

Many different things cause mouth ulcers. Smoking, sucking on things lollipops and such, gingivitis, poor oral hygiene, Dryness and of course HSV 1 Herpes Simplex Virus. HSV 2 is the same thing but a different area. If it is HSV well you have what the medical field calls a Hallmark STD. It's the gift that keeps on giving. It's usually non-fatal and could be caused from kissing someone years ago who was an active carrier. There really is no cure. They are anti-viral medications that will lessen the time it takes it disappear so you can't pass it on. I would consult with a Dr and get a blood test for HSV to see if it really is that. The blood test will detect the HSV antibodies in your blood stream if you were exposed to the HSV antigen. If the levels are very high then it's considered a positive result and your doctor will prescribe you an anti-viral. Stress is usually the trigger because it has something to due with your nerve system. If you are having lots of stress in your life and you notice a correlation to the frequency of the out break chances are it's HSV. Instead of a doctor a dentist could probably diagnose the problem and it's a little cheaper than a doctor.

Good luck with it.

Cold sores (herpes 1) will form on the lips on in the roof of the mouth. Most people readily recognise these.
However, I assume you're asking about canker sores (aphthous ulcers). These are the most common intra-oral ulcer, usually found on the inside of the lips or cheeks - they are not viral, bacterial, or fungal and not communicable. There have been many suggestions as to cause, but none definitely proven. They usually last 10-14 days.
The best remedy is a corticosteroid ointment in a waterproof base. It's called Kenalog in Orabase or Adcortyl in Orabase which contains triamcinalone acetonide. I believe it's about USD$28 per tube. It is very effective for pain relief and for accelerated healing.
Pull out your lip and dry off the ulcer with a tissue. With your little finger, place a dab of ointment on the ulcer and smear it into place. Don't rub it in or it will crumble. Do this 2x daily after having brushed your teeth first.

gargle with Brown/Bragg's Unfiltered vingar for will kill the Bacteria, the white does not work for all the electrolytes, minerals etc are processed out of it.Vinegar kills bacteria and viruses and has been used effectively since before the romans. Could be a virus causing the mouth sores or I'd go to a doctor for certain sexually transmitted diseases cause mouth sores esp oral and you may have no other symptons.Only way to tell is to go see a doctor-who can swab for a culture and determine under microscope what it is. I'm amazed its gone on this long without you getting medical help but if you have gone and the cause is a virus can come and go--You can also drink a Brown Vinegar/Honey mixture AM,Afternoon and PM. 2Tablespoons in 1/2cup warm water and 1tablespoon honey---vinegar will put the body in a alkaline condition and disease cannot exist for thrives in a acidic condition. After the 1st week cut own to AM and PM only then after 3weeks do 1tablespoon AM and PM Do a seaarch on Bragg's unprocessed vinegar to learn all the health benefits

Wow, there are so many answers to this.
It can be caused by a virus (typically a strain of herpes, which does not mean you got it by doing anything dirty!), it could be caused by acid imbalances (triggered by poor nutrition or even stress), it could be an immune response to an allegry...the best person to talk to is a dentist or doctor, b/c they can usually figure out the problem and help you control it. Until then, they can be treated like astomach ulcer--with things like Tums or other acid reducers (if you use the liquid kind, just swish and spit to coat the ulcers). But for long-term relief, you'll have to see the doc!
Good luck!

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about 5 years ago, when I was still in college and had a silly one-night stand. I realize a lot of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/iT8tq everything improved.

Not only was I able to remove all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This system gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I hope that I can help others too by sharing this story.

It is surprising to know that you have neglected your health for such along period. Any way it is never late to rectify the minor damage. Your body is having excess heat and lack of B,Complex and Vitamin "C" .You should take these two medicines daily for a week and see the development ,where in your urine will be yellow in colour ,you need not be afraid as it is due to the B,Complex and do eat some citrus fruits , Such as Orange and sweet Lime.and drink a lot of water that will be good for the over all health. repeat this course if required from time to time.
Wishing you fast recovery of mouth ulcers.and keep in mind that if there is health you will have all the wealth in life. So go a head and enjoy your life .
