My mother went through a lot of stressful and traumatic incidents in her life. She seemed ok, but now I suspect she is exhibiting post traumatic stress. (I'm living in another country, but will return next year, when my term of service is up.) I'm here on holiday, to be with her. I noticed that her nerves seem to be constantly on edge, vulnerable, forgetful, agitated. She told me she knows she has post traumatic stress, but she refuses to go on medication, and doesn't trust counsellors.
So what can I do to make my mother more calm and relaxed given this situation?

Thanks.

It is said time and again that look for happiness within.
But practically speaking, why do people end up having control of our happiness?(Rather we end up giving it in their hands often)
And then when they donot reciprocate in a certain manner , we end up feeling bad and sad.
Why ?
Why does logic not reign over our emotions?
Why does the thinking-by-heart, take over ,thinking by the logical mind?
Why are we not always able to stick to being practical and logical?

I've read about all the wonderful benefits of taking one 81mg aspirin per day. However, when is a good time to start this? I'm 30 and heart disease does run in my family, however, I'm in good health. Should I take one per day just as a precaution?

Its my left eye, its twitching, it started about 4 days ago now and its flickering like mad. Its my top lid. I've had a look in it and cant see anything untowards. I am a little stressed right now could it be that. Also the top of my spine (right at the base of my head) is really sore today and I'm finding it hard to look to the left and right. Am I just stressed or am I turning in to a twitching freak LOL

We have two jars of peanut butter with the bar code 2111, one being almost empty because we made peanut butter cookies with it. Should we simply throw it away or should it be tested? We all have had flu like symptoms in the last several weeks, but the flu is going around. Any advice?

My husband is bipolar. He said alot of mean things and is abusive. All the doctors say is it is hard for them and you need to be supportive. At what point do you think about yourself? I really know the answer to this but I cannot talk openly to people I know so I am just looking for a liitle support and someone to talk to.

Can I get antibiotics that my doctor has previously prescribed to me without going to see him. When I get the flu, he always gives me the same thing but I don't remember the name of that medicine. So If I know what he's going to give me why not just go to the pharmacy and get what I need. You think the pharmacist will let me? I know, I need to find out the name of the medicine first, maybe I can just call my doctor if thats possible.

I currently have partials, but really want to see about investing in implants. What will that cost me? Is there another alternative? I have 3-4 decent teeth left, so I'd need a full mouth workup.

Is something wrong with my birth control IUD and my body? I've just gotten on this IUD about a month ago and I'm bleeding ever since. My doctor said on the day of the procedure that I will be spotting for a few hours but it's been months 1- 1/2. I read somewhere it said that women will bleed for a few weeks after IUD is insert but it's taken forever for me. I'm scare that something might be wrong with my IUD. I don't bleed everyday, but since I got the IUD about a month ago I had only about 3 days that I recall i didn't bleed other than that it's like mini periods for me everyday and someday it really seems like I'm on my periods. I'm pretty scare. I think I better contact my doctor uh??

I believe in euthinasia.
I see that whether we agree it is right or wrong, that we should respect would the patients who wants to die believes. It is thier responsibity, so even if it is wrong to do it, I feel we must still help them to go.
But I would ensure that they know full well what the pro's and con's are before they make an informed decision.

I saw a program about abuse that was going on in care homes, and although abuse is not a desease, it is still a horrific thing to suffer sistematically.
I think that it may be OK to give euthinasia to patient who is suffering abuse, if such abuse cannot be stopped in any means. So long as they give concent.
However; if we cannot see it happening, they how do we know?
We should respect what they want. But should you know that they are not mentall ill?

What do you think to this?

Hi, I'm thinking of going on the injection, but I need to have a wee bit more information about it. A couple of years ago, I was on the pill but in the end had to stop as I hate taking pills and starting to dread it. I can be susceptible to depression, but I'm beating that on my own now anyway. I just wanted to know about side effects now and future and how safe it is to take? Someone said something about brittle bones? I don't know. Please, if anyone can give advice on this or any other contraceptive (bar the pill lol), it would really be appreciated. Thanks.
