I saw this on a commercial, but thought the phrase was "My tears do not compromise my strength." It was spoken by a Hurricane Katrina victim who was crying about loved ones lost during the storm. Her point was that she could cry about her losses, yet she was still strong enough to carry on with her fight for survival. It touched me deeply, since I too cry easily. I find it frustrating because I feel others see it as weakness, although I know I am a survivor and have the "strength of 10 men. " I had an epiphany. I will no longer hide my tears, nor be ashamed of them. I will celebrate them because they are a part of my true self, and I am proud of who I am.

Tears have many meanings it can mean pain, sadness, or having something in your eye where as your soul is you and what makes you you so tears can take many forms your soul can only take one form and thats of you

I would say that it says " Your soul is still strong even though you may shed tears"

I don't know, depends on who said it.

My first reaction was something along the line of "Crocodile Tears" because the phrase seems to indicate they've decidedly disconnected their emotional responses from their emotional needs. ::shrug::

It sounds like a statement of insincerity to me; that 'my tears' do not expose the reality of myself.

Crying does not change who you are deep in your soul. It is a form of release but, even while you are releasing you are not changing the core that is you.

The fact that I cry does not diminish the strength of my spirit.

Hmmm..is it the tissue (?Kleenx) commercial you're quoting here?
I also think that it means....I may cry but, "don't judge a book by its cover'!

It's totally, 100% ok to cry. It's not weakness to show emotion. Emotions are characteristic to human beings. Let it all out!

Big girls can cry!!!
