Does this mean that I do have a thyroid problem? Or will this just go away? Any information would be great.

Looks like your doctor just wants to doublecheck because it may have been borderline. When you retest, make sure its in the morning, Doctor usually test TSH only and TSH is at its highest point while we sleep, so you want it tested as soon as possible after waking up. I'd suggest you get a copy of your results, so you know exactly if your doctor was thinking you have an underactive thyroid or an overactive thyroid. I suggest not onky a TSH, but also a free t4, free t3, and an antibody test.

If you do have a thyroid condition, it will probably be treated with medication.

A few months ago, I was very sick, zero energy, freezing cold, depressed, weight gain, thought I was dying. I read every word of this Hypothyroidism Revolution program and followed all the advice. My life turned around the first week. I started to feel human again. Within weeks my energy came back and I felt like living again.

there are 3 basic components to a thyroid test, the T3, T4 and TSH...basically all that needs to be examined in the short term is the TSH, Thyroid stimulating hormone. It its low, that means the thyroid is oveproducing, and if its high, its underproducing. the other two are the thyroid hormones themselves. If one is marginally low and the tsh is normal its prob insignificant, which is probably your case.

That's something you have to ask your doctor. Obviously, he can't answer that right now, that's the reason he has you coming back in in 6 weeks. So relax for now and when the results are back, he'll tell you or you ask HIM.

It means your doctor is very smart. He saw that you levels were low but wants to wait and see if your levels truely are low or if it was something else going on when they drew your blood.
