I am trying to understand why i am breaking out lately...I have been drinking everyday for sometime now and recently everytime i drink a glass of whiskey or like 3 or 4 beers my face turns blood red and acts like im allergic to alcohol...anybody know anyone thats ever had this problem or know what it is?

You know that you are drinking too much. I've not seen this flushing except in people taking disulfarim or antabuse while drinking. Are you on any medication?

I really hope you will listen to the many folks that are telling you that you may have a drinking problem. Denial is the #1 symptom. I'm not saying that you do have a drinking problem or that you are an alcoholic. But, it sounds like you might want to at least consider the topic. Of course, see your doctor right away. Alcohol is poison to your system. Alcoholism is an inherited disease. It is progressive and fatal. There is no cure.

it is likely that you aren't allergic to alcohol, but that you are allergic to something else that is in your alcohol of choice.. research how exactly the beer and whiskey that you have been drinking is made (is it made from grains, or corn, or rice) and i bet you would more than likely see a similarity between them.. i dont drink any wheat beers because it gives me a stuffy nose, but i can drink any other type of beer without any problems

its not the alcohol you are allergic to, its the wheat or barley! Me too. I can only drink white wine. Some vodka is potato based but most grain alcohols are wheat. You are likely allergic to the wheat-and may have to avoid all wheat-breads, cookies, etc. I can no longer touch wheat in any form-guess I drank so much of it that my body can no longer take it.

My sister is like that and yes it is from alcohol. My dad was also allergic to alcohol. Becareful, for some reason being allergic to alcohol makes addiction more likely.

It really can happen. My friend is really allergic to alcohol. Last time she had a chocolate martini she almost stopped breathing. It can be serious. You could go to see an allergist to see if they recommend anything.

There sure are people who are allergic. Usually they throw up after one or two drinks. Yours sounds different.

You might be allergic to sulphites, which is contained in a lot of wines, or gluten, in beer. Check with your doctor before even another sip!!!

dude take it as a sign alcohol is pure **** it kills and makes many suffer while some basterd laughts his *** off burning the money you used to by it my mother died from alcohol ifyour alergic take it as a sign and live easy beer is not nessecary for live( i know am going to get attacked for that one...) i never drank beer once and my life is damn good

It's called the onset of alcoholism,,,,,your face is beat red because your blood pressure is getting too high...Take that as a hint and quit drinking while you still can...if you can
