On and off, for months, I have had red, itchy, raised welts that show up on my arms, legs, stomach, and upper back/neck... usually only 1 or 2 places at a time. And, when every I unintentionally scratch myself, not enough even to bleed, it raises and becomes itchy, then spreads. I don't want to go to a doctor if it isn't serious. Can anyone help?????

It's been recommended by some people to gently blow your nose when it's bleeding, because it removes the clot or whatever that's keeping the blood flowing.

Sorry to be gross, but I notice that sometimes when I do, it's just a mass of mucus that comes out. I know when I was younger we used to say "I just blew out a blood vessel", but I doubt that's true.

Why does blowing your nose sometimes work with nosebleeds?

What happens when you breathe in plastic fumes? I accidentally burned the plastic part of a pot and there was this very strong fume that came out as a result. I inhaled in lots and lots of it. Is it supposed to be harmful?

I saw a program on the discovery health channel about this little girl who had a serious illness that doctors misdiagnosed. But, some time later one of the nurses decided to double check hair head for ticks. And sure enough they found one! They said that ticks do indeed have venom!! And its supposedly similar to spider venom. This case happened in Georgia. The little girl got the tick from her dog. I assume that this may be why Lyme Disease can be mistaken for something else. But once the tick is removed recovery is almost instant. Still however, I think if anyone is bitten by a tick they should be tested for lyme disease just in case. The Atlanta suburbs are not far from me so. I am gonna make sure I protect mysel from these critters!
