Average age is 51 but can vary according to health issues. The beginning (called perimenopause) is when periods start to be irregular, which can last for a long time. Also there are other annoying problems to deal with including depression, anxiety, mood swings, etc. It can be a two to four year 'journey' so be prepared!!
