My guess would be that asthma can be triggered due to a histamine reaction and sometimes histamines can cause itching. For example, like if you are allergic to something that causes an itchy rash....that is a histamine response.

Hi Mandie. It sounds like your asthma attack is caused by an allergic reaction which is also causing a reaction in your skin (chin and neck area). So ... what are you eating, breathing, drinking or being exposed to that is causing this allergic reaction???

It may help if you keep a notebook, recording all 'exposures' you have (foods eaten; liquids consumed; chemicals -soaps, detergents, cleaning agents, etc; air quality; time of day; type of clothing; personal hygiene items; etc.) in the 24 hour period prior to each attack. Over time, you may see the same 'culprit' in your records and thus find the cause of your reaction.

Best wishes and good luck.

in the past i've suffered from eczema and asthma. I itched and had trouble breathing. I would say it's all linked to an allergy.

I'm allergic to cats, when near them i get a red rash on my face and hands then get wheezy. Eczema and asthma are quite linked you know.

Hi Mandie

Indeed, the first initial response is that of the readers who have posted this evening. Particularly allergic reactions.

However you should try to read more targeted info in order to be able to educate yourself more on this condition

when you have an asthma attack your wind pipe narrows, then when you take your inhaler this opens the air ways again, maybe the itch is your wind pipe tightening
