My mother is diabetic and legally blind. She has to give herself insulin twice a day and cannot see the numbers on the syringe and also has a problem telling if there's anything in the syringe as she cannot tell when her insulin bottle is getting low. She's trying to keep as independant as possible but she needs someone to at least get her needles ready for her. She cannot work with the insulin pens because she needs 100 units at a time so she'd be standing there counting clicks all night. Does anyone know of any products (and where to get them in Canada or online) that could help her with giving herself these injections?

Can anyone diagonise this?
- depressed
-left arm is spastic at night when trying to sleep, and is sometimes violently wailing.
-talks to oneself at night, as if there are 2 people instead the head, 1 (the left hand) is cynical and violent to self, while the other (right hand)is calm.
can anyone diagnose what disorder has these symptoms?

I was just denied insurance coverage due to an elevated level of alkaline phosphatase in my liver. I am on medication for high cholesterol (Zocor 40 mg daily). I have been on Zocor 6 years. I take a liver lipid panel blood test every three months and have not been told there is any liver damage. As advised by my doctor I have lost 50 pounds and I am maintaining my desired weight of 175 pounds. I lost the weight and maintain my weight by a healthy diet eating little red meat or fatty foods (no junk foods,limited carbs). When I inquired on the internet it mentioned biliary tract disease. During an ultrasound test 2 years ago it was discovered I have small gallstones. I was given no indication pro or con to have them removed. I have noticed on the Internet the gallbladder is associated with an obstruction in the biliary tract. I have an enlarged liver. I do not drink. My paternal grandmother had an enlarged liver and spleen and died from pancreatic cancer at 83. I am a 53 year old male.

I have recently been prescribed oxycontin for chronic nerve pain, that nothing else has successfully treated. It's helping a lot with the pain, but the side effects - nausea, dizziness are awful. I've heard they are temporary. Anyone have any advice for me?

my girlfiriends period is late for a couple of days,and she doesent realy feel pre menstrual symptoms,just that her boobs got a little bigger and they are sensitive.10hours ago we did a pregnancy test and it was negative,but i wanna be sure:what sympthoms can occur at this time?

Sometimes when I cough, especially if it's a hard cough, I see weird little things, almost like worms; glowing white on 1 end and dark at the other, crawling across my vision. It starts at the edges and moves inward, though the paths of the 'worms' seem random. the effect lasts about 8-10 seconds.

I get this same feeling a lot. It happens out of nowhere and in different places. I get really dizzy, short of breath, and I just feel like I need to leave or like run away. Sometimes I feel like my body is numb and I can't feel my arms. At times I can talk myself out of these episodes and I've found eating something or taking my mind off of stuff I can calm myself down but sometimes I can't and it eventually passes. This happens during school a lot and I really wish it wouldn't.. any advice and are these episodes panic attacks at all?

About 2 weeks ago, I suspected I was getting a UTI. Had a bit of irritation in the bladder, etc. Did the antibiotics and it didn't seem to help, but didn't worsen either. I eventually realized that it didn't seem exactly like a bladder infection, but rather that the opening of my urethra seemed to be irritated. Esp after my shower, and thru the day, but would improve toward evening. It occured to me that I could be having an allergic reaction to something I was using- either to my body wash/soap or to my laundry detergent, both of which I started using new brands recently. I stopped washing with the body wash a few days ago, only to some improvement, and just today put on an old pair of underwear that I know had not been washed in the new sunlight detergent. So far so good since I did that.
Does anyone think it might be possible to have an allergic reaction to laundry detergent and suffer the effects 'down there'? I wear thongs, btw, so contact is possible.....

My older (teenage) sibling has borrowed money from me for over a year and never pays it back. She has a part-time job and is making her own money, but I suspect she wants "my" money for cigarettes. If I don't loan it to her, she gets mad and complains to my parents, then they get into an argument, and I'm afraid they'll divorce, and I can't live with that! For me, it's easier to just give my sister the money to avoid the family stress. PLEASE HELP!!!
