Yes, it is very bad. I asked a chiropractor about this one time cause I too heard it was just a myth. Everytime you crack your knuckles, small pieces of bone break off. They can repair themselves if you stop doing it, but over time it can cause arthritis. I'd rather deal with temporary pain now than have arthritis later in life and have to take medication for it. If you pop your neck or back too, you'll find these sacs develop around the shoulder area. You can rub them out yourself, but these too can become a problem later down the road. My girl friend is a massage therapist and she gave me this info. I don't remember what these "sacs" are called, but since I stopped popping every bone in my body, I've actually felt less tense and have had less pain.

Yes it is. You are disturbing the joints in your fingers...example: the front end of a car, you need to service the joints ( grease ) it whenever necessary, or it will break. In your hand/fingers, it's called arthritis...inflammation of the joints. Oh, and for your information, cracking your back and neck is bad also.
