When I was ten years old, my younger brother Pete contracted chronic athlete´s foot.
Athlete’s foot and nail fungus cause discomfort to millions of people worldwide each year. Yet it is a treatable disease that—in time—is beatable. Moist skin between your toes is an ideal place for the fungus to grow. The skin many become itchy and red. And then the infection can spread to the toenails causing an unpleasant odor. The fungus can also spread to the airpits, anus, genitals, eyes and liver, and to household pets.
It is time that we realised that this infection which thrives in most environments including toilet seats, has caused harm worth untold billions to shoes and socks, can be cured with sufficient tubes of anti fungal cream and better foot hygiene.
What can we do to focus & mobilize our governments to make athlete´s foot and toe fungus can be a fear of the past?
