Thats easy By law you are only required to provide enough food and shelter to sustain him. That means you can sell everything he owns. take everything out of his room except his bed. and some clothes and take the door off the hinges so he has no privacy. Make sure you give him no money for anything have him pack a lunch for school. I f you are a crappy parent you wont do this and then you need to look at you as the problem not him. Its called tough love.

Can you send him away to get treatment? Those places are really expensive, but it might worth it.

See if you can find some x rays of what pot can do to your lungs and other body parts.

Take him to a prison and show him how drug users have to live if they get convicted of a large possession crime.

See if you can find anyone who used to smoke a lot of pot and does not anymore and maybe that person can scare the **** out of your son.

Does he have a job? Either way, stop giving him money.

Hello at 17 the more you go on at him the more determined he will be, i have to admit this is a hard one,if it was me i might consider going to the police, but i would check it out with them first to see what they would do,as if it was a severe warning or a couple of nights in the cells,it would give your son a chance to think about what he is doing, and i hope would be offered some help and advice, thats all i can think of(sorry i've said son all along,so real sorry if i got it wrong) hope this helps good luck

I agree with the first one.

When I was in high school one of my best friends, her mom always told her if she ever caught her smoking a cigerrette then she would have hell. Her mom always said if she wanted to smoke something smoke pot(serriously true story). Well we are now 25 my friends smokes cigerettes and will not touch pot at all. Trust me I have tried several times to get her to smoke with me.

First of all, forbid it in you house. It's a liability to you. Be firm-- if he/she sneaks it in and you find out, kick him out. It sounds harsh, but there's really no alternative.

If he's 17, he's about to go out on his own and become an adult that has to function in modern society. If he absolutely refuses to quit, then let him learn his own lessons. Pot doesn't lead down good roads, and he'll discover that eventually.

There is nothing you can do . It's his choice... he will do it if he really wants to no matter what you do or say. So what you should do is just let it be... he will do it on his own in time, or perhaps never. If you keep harping on him, I bet you anything he will continue out of rebellion and smoke till he is 65

the more you tell them to stop doing something espically at that age they will rebell even more. i know it sucks but if you see things rapidly changing then admit him or her into rehab.
