I've been told that my seizures (grand mal) could possibly be caused by my birthmark, but only if the birthmark is port wine. Does anybody know where I can find info. on a link between these two?

Not only thin people exist in our world today...we need real people to show little teenage girls how to act because they are our romodels. Those girls are a little too skinny and thats a big impact on why teenagers have bulimea or if they fast. But my question is are they really that skinny...???

Hi, does anyone know of any effective home treatments for internal piles that will actually shrink them down. I've used hydrocortisone creams in the past, but do not want to continue with these long term. I've tried Preparation H and Anusol, I'm looking something a little more effective. I'm too embarrassed to go to the doctors. TIA.

I have had a bad sore throat for 10 days now. I first went to the doctor after the sore throat wouldn't go away after about 5 days. 4 days later, I went again. Both times the doctors simply told me that I had some sort of viral infection, and they couldn't do anything for me.

I don't like this at all. I'm not sick very often, and I rarely have a problem like this. I've tried tons of things to cure the sore throat: advil, lozenges, water, chloraseptic gargle, cepacol, etc...

All of these things help to cure the pain temporarily, but after they wear off the pain just comes back again. I also have blister-like sores on the roof of my mouth which cause pain when trying to swallow. The pain is worst in the morning.

I nearly got into a fight with the 2nd doctor about the whole issue. He claimed that sore throats from viruses can last up to 5 weeks. This is just not acceptable to me. Surely there can be something I can do about this, or some way I can find the cause of the pain!

In 2001 my Mom passed away from cancer. Till 2004 i was so worried about my dad dying also that I could not sleep.

If my dad went to bed first there was no way I could sleep.
I would worry that he would die in his sleep like my mom did.

So I would creep out of bed and stand beside his bed and listen to him breathing. Sometimes I could not hear it and I would panic and stand beside his bed until I did.

Last week he had an operation and that fear i had returned. My dad is 80 and I know that he will die someday.
But I still worry so much now that I have started having panic attacks and nausea.

I just can't stand the thought of him dying.

Is there anyone else who has dealt wiith this?

Worrying this much about a parent after one passed away?
And how can I deal?

Thank you

I work in a hospital and i know I should know the answer. But I just work as a dispatcher for transport so I was wondering what disease causes you to need dialysis? Just a curosity.

We're trying to figure out the fairest way to judge our weight loss challenge -- number of pounds lost, or percentage of body weight.

I've visited the funeral of my sisters' best friends' mother. She was only 52. Cancer. The family are devestated. How long does the whole "grieving process" take? Is there a standard process or does it differ from person to person? Please only serious answers. Thanks.

I am 24 and had 2 slipped disks in my back a few years ago. I want to be able to do a backbend, but not really sure how to go about it. I would just go for it if I didnt have back problems. I dont want to fall back onto my head. lol.
