Hi, does anyone know of any effective home treatments for internal piles that will actually shrink them down. I've used hydrocortisone creams in the past, but do not want to continue with these long term. I've tried Preparation H and Anusol, I'm looking something a little more effective. I'm too embarrassed to go to the doctors. TIA.

I heard of this about a decade ago, for intestinal irritations such as piles, try organic raw yogurt enemas(NO store bought yogurt! Get this from your health food grocer).

They soothe the linings, and are packed with the good bacteria your intestines need to digest. Doing an enema ensures all the good bacteria reach the intestine without going through the digestive process.
This will also aid in releasing any intestinal build up that is causing or irritating your bowels.

Try proctosedyl cream or suppositories. If it's quite bad, you do need to go see a doctor and have them tied or lasered off. There's really no need to feel embarrassed about this, as doctors and nurses are all accustomed to this condition, and will definitely make you feel at ease. Remember, your health is more important in the long run.
Take care.

If the above treatments have failed, you should probably see your doctor. Don't be embarrassed. They see this kind of thing all the time. Perhaps you need more fiber in your diet. Maybe your hemorrhoids are chronically irritated because of straining. Take care,. Hope you feel better soon.

Believe it or not, but if you change your diet (no spicy foods, citric acids, etc.) the piles will shrink down themselves.

Also, getting a bit more personal here (sorry), please don't try to strain and push so much when using the toilet. This too will irritate them.

Feel Better.....Have a lovely rest of the day.

I put it off for a while, but finally I got surgery and I'm glad I did. Good luck.
