I've never made peanut butter cookies although I've been cooking for many years. I stumbled across a recipe that only called for white, brown and confectioners sugar, peanut butter and egg. Once baked you were supposed to put a chocolate kiss in the center. It sounded suspicious to me, I had never baked anything that didn't call for at least flour and/or baking powder or baking soda. I did some checking and it seemed like a popular recipe as far as peanut butter cookies were concerned so I gave it a shot.
I did everything like instructed and the cookies were as big around as saucers and flat as can be. That's NOT what they were supposed to look like. What went wrong here?

I need a good recipe, but it cannot have the following: Beef, Ham or Pork. No Onions,Garlic, or Ginger with the exeption of very small pieces that I can't taste
I want it to be simple and tasty and easy to prepare.
plus if it requires me to go shopping, make sure the ingrediants are easy to find

This happened to me last year and I threw away. I bought an additional 26# frozen turkey @ Thanksgiving to cook with the intention of freezing the meat and broth for future meals. Again the turkey has taken so long to defrost (still has partial freezing in areas) that I don't know if I can safely cook it. Even if it has no bad odor, (does have a salty odor but not bad)how can I tell if it is safe to eat?

We soaked the beans, then heated them in water on high in our crockpot for a couple of hours. We added the other ingredients (diced tomatoes, hamburger) and continued cooking, a couple of hours on low, but now at least 4 or 5 on high--longer than we've ever done it before!--and the beans still taste raw. It doesn't seem to be that the pot has lost oomph, since the mixture is visibly simmering. But we're not getting chili, let alone mush, as we'd expect.
Any idea what gives?

I cook dinner very often for my husband, but i am running out of ideas for side dishes. The reason is because my husband is kinna picky and doesnt eat any fruits or veggies, or anything even made with vegetables!!! So that rules out salads too. The only vegetables he eats are potatoes and tomatoes. I've already done french fries, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, and stuff like that...Any other ideas of what i can make as side dishes???
