RE:
Where can you buy mint sprigs at?
Im having company in a day or 2 and I will be making Mojito's.
Does anyone know if grocery stores have them or do I have to go somewhere special to get them. I live in San Diego if that might help with what stores are here. Thanks alot

In a grocery store. Go to the produce section. Or try a farmer's market. 3 fresh mint sprigs 2 tsp sugar 3 tbsp fresh lime juice 1 1/2 oz light rum club soda In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint, and serve.

Many grocery stores offer fresh herb plants. You usually find them in the produce department. Have a need for mint sprigs? Buy the plant. These plants are usually cheaper than the cut herb products and you get a lot more from the plants.

Green grocers sell them here in Australia, or failing that, why not buy a small potted mint plant from your garden plant supplier? You would have it 'on tap' whenever you needed it.

Ah! You're making my favourite drink. I grow mint in my garden most of the year. And, I keep a medium size plant in a pot in my sun-room in the winter. Check with your neighbours, most people grow mint in their yards or on their porches. You can also buy it in most farmers markets, nurseries, and some super markets.
