This happened to me last year and I threw away. I bought an additional 26# frozen turkey @ Thanksgiving to cook with the intention of freezing the meat and broth for future meals. Again the turkey has taken so long to defrost (still has partial freezing in areas) that I don't know if I can safely cook it. Even if it has no bad odor, (does have a salty odor but not bad)how can I tell if it is safe to eat?

good lawd, why are you buying such a humongous bird?! It'd be tough anyway! Just buy 2 thirteen pounders next time.

Hon, please throw it away. Do not take a chance of becoming sick.

Your fridge needs to be adjusted, it is running too cold. Maybe it is time for a new one.

Do you have a meat market in your town? Most will roast turkeys, chickens, roasts for you. Our WalMart supermarket has wonderful roasted chickens that you can pick up around 9:30 or 10:00 AM each morning. Very fresh. And during the holidays they are roasting turkeys.

I don't think this is safe. I would think if it did not thaw withen two days, cook it anyway. it will tahw in the oven. For future, thoughm your fridge may be set to cold, have anything else freezing?
